Can someone please explain to me what is going on?

I have asked MNHQ the following questions but have had no response

I had read on another thread that the reason was due to posters not contributing to other threads - can someone explain as I see plenty of examples of parents using only one topic and there isn't an issue with removing them.

Why was there no warnings given?

There have been other posters banned before for saying much worse and later reinstated

If someone is threatening mumsnet, can you please tell us what exactly for?

Is there such a thing as liability insurance we can agree to take out?

There are many threads on mumsnet that could deeply offend me, but it isn't in the spirit of mumsnet,, nor is it in my nature to take criticism so seriously, this is a place of safety for me and support, not another bloomin place of paranoia and being told what I am saying is in someway wrong or dangerous, it is the truth.

I think that you should just perhaps forget discussing Steiner on mn. At least for a few months. I'd imagine that HQ probably have enough on their plate (and it is all pretty boring anyway). This is a discussion forum and it is mainly democratic but it is not a democracy.

They didn't lead anywhere, they went round and round and round, quoting quotes of quotes of quotes, and used by some who only came on mn to use them and spread the word one way or the other - was a little battle being played out.

Not sure why deleted though, but they were strange and confusing.

There are other posters who only join in with threads in a single area - but it's probably not a contentious issue where there is a risk of legal action. You have to remember that MN Towers have had their fingers badly burnt in the past - while an individual poster has freedom of speech, they as a "publisher" are at risk of legal action if they don't remove posts which might be considered to be libel/slander/defamation, and also take action to try to prevent it happening again, such as banning those responsible.

i had read and lurked on a few of the steiner threads

they seemed incredibly convoluted and complex

and there seemed to be lots of personal attacks/ pointed criticism and threats

which is just not apporpriate

if people only wish to talk about steiner schools, then join a yahoo group as it is hardly mainstream parenting issue.

mumsnet is by paretns for paretns and the steiner threads were not really representative of the vast , vast majority of mnetters

Even if some people hate them, found them strange and confusing, other people found them a place where they ould share experiences.
Surely, even if people think the above, there still should be some explanation as to why some have been deleted.
And if someone is threatening them, what is the charge?
You don't have to go on threads you don't want to. There are plenty I find boring to a degree, or offensive.

maybe not, but the forces sweethearts don't tend to fling mud at each other and copy and paste like things possessed.

It's extremely unlikely that there is any legal comeback- it is a tactic used by the steiner people and anthroposphists to stifle debate and carry on deceiving people.

And there is every possibility that the whole GF issue could have been far more contained and less expensive if mn had just censored it a bit more, I am hypothesising btw.

Group of people with diametrically opposing views on Steiner schools - not a debate just a slanging match.

But NR, 'forces sweethearts' seem to post on a range of related topics.

Whereas all steiner threads turn out the same: an innocent OP asks a genuine question, but it rapidly turns into a re-hash of the same obscure points being made by the same very small band of posters. It is utterly unintelligible to anyone else.

And I do have an opinion on Steiner, and have occasionally posted it when people have asked for opinions. But the really intense Steinerista/anti-Steinerista debates are really in the wrong place here.

Agree-I haven't read the Steiner threads apaprt from the one further down the active convos, but the main difference seems to be the tone set by a few posters. With the recent legal stuff about other parenting 'ideas' being taken as personal attacks & therefore threatening MN, I think this forum is just the wrong place to put such propaganda.
