well bl00dy typical. This is the only night in over a year that i need some support. You hate me tech don't you?

LOL 33kjs. Always leave mumsnet open and flick to it and away again quickly whenever dp enters the room.

Ok, good timing by me. We're going to have dinner in a few minutes, and I'll be gone anyway. So you have my permission to take it down now.

We've brought the shutdown forward to 1:30 am rather than 5 for various reasons.... we should be back by about 3.

ditto kathyetc, I though dp had secretly put a block on the site. I only discovered it a couple of weeks ago and i'm addicted! It's driving him MAAAAAAAD

LOL at Big Warning. MNHQ you're very considerate to think of our nerves in this way.

(Poor Tech, up at that time of the morning. Perhaps we should rally round and give him an hour during daylight to just get on with it without the aid of ProPlus?)

Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By LedodgyDickinson on Wed 28-Nov-07 21:45:06
I haven't been able to get on since 2pm this afternoon. I was that bored I made an Amazon wish list which was completley futile as we only buy for the children at Christmas and my Birthday isn't until next summer!

I want a refund from Mumsnet for the bras I just ordered from Bravissimo during the crash. I don't think that's an unreasonable request.

It's just happened again for the second night running. Any time between 9pm and 9.30pm, it crashes.

Also, at lunchtimes, between 1.00pm and 2.00pm.

I've just been restored after another frustrating half an hour or more.

Hi ShakeysGirl

We're sorry that the technical error sent you elsewhere briefly but we thought we'd let you know that Mumsnet has a local section. If you click here you can choose the area nearest to you.

You'll be able to see all the best local amenities to you, from indoor play and baby massage, Scouts and ballet, nurseries and partyplanners as well as spas and health clubs all as recommended by MNers.

There's a list of what's on in your area and the opportunity to meet local mums there as well as on the local talk boards.
Hope this helps
MNHQ
grin

It might be time to get Tech an underpaid work-experience assistant or something before he collapses from exhaustion in the manner of Lindsay Lohan.

Hi all, sorry about last night's collapse. We are investigating what went on. We will probably need to go offline overnight tonight for an hour or so to make some changes, but we'll post a warning beforehand. It will probably be around 4 or 5 am, when there are normally only very few people around. Thanks (and sorry again).

I read the rules on Parents Lounge. You're not allowed to discuss other websites. You can debate as long as you stay on topic and it doesn't at AT ALL personal. And it was full of glittery things. There was another website with a recent actions list on it
"5.45. Cuddlymum hugged fluffy mum"
"6.30. Fluffymum hugged mummy123"
etc...
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By ShakeysGirl on Tue 27-Nov-07 23:25:23

Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By DaisyNightingale on Tue 27-Nov-07 23:16:04
well what else was there to do, and I was feeling creative grin

I managed to join the NCT, e-mail for info on becoming a peer supporter, do some Christmas shopping and send an e-mail as well, so it was quite a productive evening by my usual "glued to MN" standard!

Its to remind us we have lives grin

I got round to checking out DD's school's revamped website and somewhat accidentally
snopes.coms piece on The Golden Compass. Which annoyed me considerably. I've always thought snopes was a site dedicated to rational unpicking of urban myths, but this seemed like a biased review.

Mumsnet why do you keep crashing?
It really leaves me bashing
At the keys

It's certainly frustrating
To keep us addicts waiting
On our knees

You gave us custom talkboards
Then randomly they won't load
You're a tease

We want to talk to our mates
See the MN jury fix fates
If you please

So Tech just get it fix-ed
Or mice they might have clicke-ed....
....On Netmums

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(
For an envious face, , type [envy]
For a sceptical face, , type [hmm]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
