Note Please be aware that our special needs area is not a substitute for expert advice. Whilst many Mumsnet members have a specialist knowledge of special needs, if they post here they are posting as members, not experts. There are, however, lots of organisations that can help those who have children with special needs, so if you feel you need some expert help, please click here for some suggestions of who to contact. If you have come across an organisation that you have found helpful, please email their web address to our webguide manager here. Many thanks, Mumsnet Towers.

Just had a reminder about DLa renewal. I had always planned just to copy what I wrote last time as nothing has changed. But now the form is different to how it was before and I'm terrified that we'll end up with nothing. Currently get middle rate care and low mobility. DS is 6 has GDD making him developmentaly between 15-24 months.

Any advice?

Off to look at form again rather than waffling here.

Have you got one of the guides to help you fill it in? They take you through each question & make suggestions what to include so you can pick out what's relevant. I found using one really helpful. You can get them from Cerebra or Contact a Family - they'll either send you a copy or you can download from their site. Cerebra also have a phone line and they'll talk you through any problems.
Good luck!

I've just filled my renewal forms -although it was different to the originals the sections are actually the same just numbered differently and on different pages. I copied most of what I wrote on the first one. hth

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(
For an envious face, , type [envy]
For a sceptical face, , type [hmm]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
