Note Please be aware that our special needs area is not a substitute for expert advice. Whilst many Mumsnet members have a specialist knowledge of special needs, if they post here they are posting as members, not experts. There are, however, lots of organisations that can help those who have children with special needs, so if you feel you need some expert help, please click here for some suggestions of who to contact. If you have come across an organisation that you have found helpful, please email their web address to our webguide manager here. Many thanks, Mumsnet Towers.

Doesn't it just show you how much progress our kids can make with the right support?

Well done to your boy, and to you and to his teacher.

He has dyspraxia and following the help he has been given by the school has made massive progress with his reading. Writing is now also improving. His teacher told me that he wrote 2 pages of a story and had a 'wonderful imagination' shock grin

And because of his hard word, he's got the class merit badge for next week.

Fan-fucking-tastic! My boy! grin

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(
For an envious face, , type [envy]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
