When you have a miscarriage do you know in advance you're going to have one, or do you feel pg and have all the symptoms right up until the point where you start to have pain or bleed? Sorry if this upsets anyone. I am very early pg - bfp on fri, and all fine except internal sense of impending doom.

I didn't have any warnings, had one at 7 weeks a few years ago, just started bleeding.

felt very pregnant right up until AFTER bleeding/cramps started.

had 3 mc's now.

pregnancy symptoms all died down rapidly after bleeding started.

as far as "knowing" in advance defo no, i had no idea nor did i even think that it was a possibility the first time, second time thought that it just cannot happen twice to any one, third time, just felt So pregnant so didnt think that it would happen. Felt vv sick, tired boobs very painful sense of smell increased intensly.

I lost all pg symptoms about a week before I miscarried. I miscarried at seven weeks. I stopped feeling tired, my boobs weren't so sore, and I didn't have any stretching womb pains. Because of this, I booked a private viability scan, which showed a sac smaller than gestational age, with no visible embryo. So even though I knew in advance - by a few days - that I was going to miscarry - I knew myself about a week before because the symptoms went away.

I had stopped feeling sick but it was only in hindsight that I realised IYSWIM. People were asking me about sickness and was happily saying "Oh no, it's all stopped now" stupidly thinking that maybe I was carrying a girl after 2 DSs and that they did it differently or something sad

I didn't get any pain until after the bleeding started

I m/c at about 10 weeks, lost all pg symptoms about a week before I started bleeding.

In hindsight, something didn't feel right. I inspected the loo roll after wiping after every toilet visit expecting to see blood, have no idea why. Didn't do it with first pregnancy.

TRy not to worry. What will be will be. I wish you a healthy pregnancy smile

the pregnancy i miscarried was the only one I have had where I actually felt pregnant at all, and I had a huge impending doom feeling. Lost it at 6 weeks but had felt 'pregnant' since moment of conception!
Now 8 weeks with next one so fingers crossed (and don't feel pregnant at all...)

I am fortunate not to have had a mc oopsidaisy - but I did have the impending doom feeling you have described with my first pregnancy, it lasted the whole pregnancy - becoming full-blown antenatal depression by about 12 weeks.

It was mostly due to my personal circumstances I realise now as there were a few traumatic family things going on, but at the time I was convinced something was wrong with the pregnancy and rather than acknowledge the fact I was having problems coping with the circumstances I turned all the negative energy in on convincing myself something was wrong. If I had nipped it in the bud it wouldn't have been such a problem and on reflection I wish I had gone a bit easier on myself in the first few weeks of the pregnancy.

Just make sure that you aren't causing yourself any undue stress and talk to your doctor or midwife if the 'impending doom' feeling doesn't go away. Wouldn't want you to miss out on enjoying your pregnancy because of it.

Oopsidaisy - I miscarried in March at 10 weeks - I woke up one morning when I was 7 weeks and (as DRNortherner said) realised instantly something was wrong as my symptoms had completely disappeared. It was then that I started with the feeling of doom you talk about. The spotting started the next day - although ironically the pregnancy symptoms came back stronger than before and the pregnancy hung on until I eventually miscarried at 10 weeks.

Every one is different and I have friends who had the same feeling of doom (including some quite heavy bleeding) but have gone on to have very healthy pregnancies and babies.

Try to enjoy your pregnancy day by day...as LenniEd says - you don't want to ruin this special time with feelings of worry or stress.

I had very few pregnancy symptoms with both of my miscarriages. And I occasionally had the niggle in my head 'my period's about to start', but I didn't have any pain and I didn't feel worried.

But I knew it was all over when I wiped away just a spot or two of blood. I know many women bleed in pregnancy without there being a problem, but I knew in my case it meant the end of the pregnancies.

I had worse pregnancy symptoms in the 2 weeks before I miscarried than when I was pregnant with dd. I also felt v. positive (I had had a complicated pregnancy with dd).

However, 5 days before I started bleeding I started to get some odd feelings in my back (difficult to descrive - not pain, but pressure) . The day before I got a severe headache which lasted until I started bleeding.

I think a sense of impeding doom is quite normal in early pregnancy - its a worrying time. Try and take care and good luck !

wiht m ymm/c i felt somethign was not right from day one as i was in alot of pain up to the scan. everyone kept saying the pain was normal like period pain (since been pregnant and was normal cramping) but the pain had me doubled over all day. then my tiredness just disappeared overnight at 7 weeks when it had died according to scan at 12 weeks!
but worrying about the pregnancy is normla and i felt doomed wiht my successful pregnancy but onve you start hitting the milestones you will start to finally accept that you will actually have a baby afte 9 months! smile

I felt the feeling of doom too (on the day,not before)
felt weird and spaced out, went in bath for a couple of hours and passed the ovum.

I started to lose symptoms at 14 weeks, but thought that was just me getting over the worst first trimester, but at 16 weeks had had a missed m/c. No other symptoms until I got a tiny speck of blood, then had to be induced.

Please try and stay positive.

I knew with my second miscarriage in some 6th sens sort of way. I also began to lose symptoms which just confirmed things for me. I actually asked themto scan firs and do bloods after at my scan because I knew the baby was dead and didn't fancy having a needle unnecessarily. That raised a few eyebrows but I was correct in my assumption.

My first miscarriage I blurted to the sonographer "it's dead isn't it?" before she even turned towards me - I half knew then but that time it was still a surprise. I think it's the combination of lessened symptoms and just a 'feeling' you have.

My miscarriages came after 3 successful pregnancies so I was quite aware of what was 'normal' for me.

The weirdest thing with miscarriage no. 2 - and this seems damningly insensitive of me to myself iyswim - but I had a HUGE HUGE sex drive and needed to have multiple orgasms every day. I have never experienced this before and never have again and I am certain it was something to do with hormones but very distressing looking back.
