I need to have a smidge of hope that I don't have to wait another 3 weeks before anything exciting happens north of the fanjo gap!

and I mean REALLY convinced you were due on, cramps, pms the lot.

Cheapies will be there by tomorrow (normally) I'm look forward to the result

I thought my period was late due to jet lag (can happen) and was 6 weeks along by the time I tested!!! Sore boobs should have clued me in though.
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By Squack on Tue 06-May-08 09:02:13
I don't get sore boobs pre-period and I don't have them now either. There again I don't remember getting them when I was pg until almost 12 weeks, so that's not really helpful either hmm

<looks at watch> this is taking ages.

Me. I'd had IVF but was absolutely convinced it hadn't worked so the symptoms kind of convinced me too. Anyway, I had sore boobs (got them with every period), mood swings and PMS and stomach cramps and that sort of dull ache you get before period. So, persuaded DH to get the wine out and next morning found out I was pg. Cue panic about the wine for the next 9 months!

<wails>

I've gone orf wine Dh bought a bottle with the shop yesterday and I could've barfed at the thought of it.

I'm very tired too. He commented on that yesterday, I've had to have an afternoon nap everyday since Friday shock

<crosses fingers so tight it hurts>

I thought period was coming but only because I thought I had missed OV. Being very very tired and having to have afternoon naps was something I had to start doing before I got my BFP.

I'm not ttc but when I got pg with both dc in the few days before af was due I was moody, had stomach cramps and was absolutely positive I was going to get my period. Clearly I know nothing about my own body grin

What are the chances of it being +ve at 11dpo on an LP11 then?

Do the stats still apply at 11dpo if your LP is a bit shorter?

If I tested today and it was a clear -ve, is it completely unlikely to be +ve tomorrow?

Would there not need to be a very faint today?

i was convinced I wasn't pregnant because I was still having periods (albeit quite light ones, which is the norm for me anyway), had the cramps as well to go with them. Found out by accident I was three months pregnant with ds. Don't know what the bleeding was, it happened at the time of my periods so ....

Squack, I forget now, when is your period actually due? I don't know all the chances in odd's, but test the day period is due (cannot believe I have just said that, it is that LL's bad influence again wink!)

You don't have to get a very faint before a strong BFP for you to be pregnant. The very faint might have shown yesterday for example.

I have about 9 tests (still) lined up upstairs, all in time and date order (how blush is that?!!) and they go from very dark to fairly faint, back to very dark again, and something I did notice is that the ones I took later in the day were darker than the ones first thing!

Congrats Scared

Just wanted to come on here to tell Squack - we've got a really similar cycle, I think. O around CD18 and have a 10-11 day LP? When I was pregnant, I tested on CD11, the day after my period would've been due according to my previous cycle and got a faint BFP. Took another two days later and it was darker. Fingers crossed for you!!!! smilesmilesmile

hey great thread! I got a BFN yesterday evening from one of the ebay One Step Pregnancy thingys (bought a pack of 10, just the strip things that you dip in a pot of wee), AF was due sunday and still no signs yet apart from low down tummy ache, moody and water retention.....me and dh convinced tests are dud, and he wants me to go get a shop bought one, but if that neg too I will be gutted.....hanging onto that sliver of hope....

Congrats scared!!!! That's really great news!!!

I only bought a test with dd because I thought that if I knew for sure that I wasn't pg I would come on!!!!!

I never realised (until then) how similar the symptoms are, I just thought that all the pmt symptoms would stop!! Just to make it more confusing!!!!

Good luck everyone, will be looking out for the announcements!!!!

well, i got a bfp on sunday afternoon even though i was convinced that there was no way on earth i could be pregnant, despite the bursting into tears every fifteen minutes or so all day on saturday, the outrageously sore boobs and the exhaustion i'd had since mid-week (i thought it was just terrible pms)... that was on day 11 of an 11 day lp (first response), and i still don't believe it. and am completely freaked out, had a miscarriage in january and am scared shitless it will happen again. i may join the knicker checkers if they'll have me, but not for a few days yet...

I'm really sorry Lissie. I hope the Clomid will do its job for you!!smile

I had my scan and everything is fine. I can't believe how tiny the baby looks, but its the right size for my dates.

Message
Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(
For an envious face, , type [envy]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
