Did anyone get a metallic taste in their mouth in the 2WW before discovering they were pregnant?

I've had a metallic taste at about 8dpo - wasn't pregnant sad. Hope you are (if you want to be), just don't get your hopes up based on it.

Yes. DS was an IVF baby and I distinctly remember the metallic taste and two older and more experienced friends looking at each other knowingly. I was discounting any possible symptoms as was convinced it hadn't worked!

This was my first symptom with my last Pregnancy - I spent a few days wondering if I was getting a cold or a throat infection because of that awful taste but got a lovely BFP instead.

Good luck grin

Yes, absolutely. Got this 5-6 days before my period with dd2 and recognized the taste from my first pregnancy - tested negative TWICE, but sure enough, 1 day after my period was due I got a positive.

Same again this time - third time round - unmistakeable metallic taste 5 days before period was due. Didn't waste my money on testing before I was officially late - and was positive.

In my case it's absolutely unmistakeable - I have it throughout pregnancy, and it goes the moment I give birth.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
