So pleased for you lady. Typicaly that January was the month you were going to avoid - hah! Just think, you can float around in gorg maternity dress at Christmas not doing anything, but looking after your bump and then you start the new year with a baby - woo hoo!
Right, was just "nipping on" at lunchtime and it's taken me about half an hour to catch up, so must get back to it.
Cals - sorry DS is ill, hope he gets back soon. I share your dilemma on full time work and being a Mum, but you sound more high powered than me grin!
Moos - sorry you are ill, hope you get better soon.
Hi Kayz, Playing, BB, Diege, Squack, Tink - don't think I missed anyone hmm?

LOL Pucca take a seat

He's asleep, I put him in cot, and then did the BFP, he slept through all of my ramblings to myself ("FFS DH pick up the bastard phone") LOL

Just got him, He is very very happy but a bit reserved incase it goes wrong again, but all is well I have had to make him promise he won't come home, wouldn't be surprised if he still turns up, but I hope he doesn't next week is causing his engineers enough problems without him flitting off this afternoon as well.

Just done another test as well, the line is still there!

I think I am still in shock, was soooooooo not expecting it to be a BFP <shakes head in disbelief for the 1000000000th time>

My nose/feeling sick at strong smells, my belly, have got a metalic taste in my mouth at times, and the last couple of days, I know this sounds ridiculous but, I just haven't been able to shift the thought that I'm pregnant out of my head. I know that stupid because to some extent you always get that on the 2ww, but this was different. Errrrm, the dreams blush

Oh and the doughnuts this mornign finished me off, I 'knew' almost as soon as I reached for the 4th!! LOL

Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By NatalieJane on Fri 02-May-08 13:50:27
Seems it when you write a list of them, but it has only really been this morning that I put them all together!

I suppose because I thought I'd only OV'ed on Sunday I wasn't really looking for symptoms as such IYKWIM?
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By kayzisexpecting on Fri 02-May-08 13:50:33
Urgh raw meat! I was meant to cook the other night and I couldn't do it. I normally cant do anything with raw chicken but I'm ok with beef mince.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By NatalieJane on Fri 02-May-08 13:53:04
With DS2, when we went shopping I used to avoid the raw meat aisle completely, DH had to put what we bought on the conveyor and pack it a) with out me seeing it and b) without making the check out girl think I was a weirdo! And he had to put it all in bags in the fridge so I couldn't see it. Still to this day don't know why, it didn't make me feel sick or anything like that, I just couldn't look at it.

I could do without the dreams ATM.

I had one last night where there were loads of gorgeous men like with those big palm leaves people use as fans. Sounds wonderful doesn't it. Then all of a sudden guess who pops up.....

Boris F**king Johnson.

How wrong is that??

LMFAO

I had one (think I might have said?) about DH trying to get me to try his false teeth on, he doesn't even have false teeth.

And I had one featuring a very sexy erm..... ahem, woman shock Even got me thinking after if I had been kidding myself all these years and actually I am a lesbian! Must admit though, it was very nice LOLOLOLOL

Hope so - for your sake!

I got them with DS1, but don't think I did with DS2, or the MC. Don't remember doing so anyway!

Still keep staring at the tests blush
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By calsworld on Fri 02-May-08 14:06:09
I had lots of raunchy dreams when I was pg with DS!

When does the 2ww start if you don't know when you OV? If I'm CD20, think I might have OV'd CD 18 or 19 as more CM than usual and some light cramps.Think AF is due on CD31...

Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By NatalieJane on Fri 02-May-08 14:08:42
I think the 2WW thing is just a saying for the LP, so just as your LP might not be 2 weeks, the 2WW might not be 2 weeks IYGWIM?

So you would say you are now on the 2WW.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By NatalieJane on Fri 02-May-08 14:10:40
Kayz if it is just for the sake of seeing the BFP again, get eBay cheapies and take no notice whatsoever of the strength of the line. If you are worried get a proper test, else you'll be second guessing the cheapies.

You're not worried though, are you?

Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By Playingthewaitinggame on Fri 02-May-08 14:15:32
ok, completely off subject and rather randon questions. Are any of you lot not christian? If not, did any of you get your children christened? If you did how did you resolve this with yourself (i.e stating publically that you believed in Jesus etc etc and vowing to bring you dc up within the church?

Just trying to work out where I stand on all of this myself. I have an element of my own personal faith and beliefs which is broadly in line with christianity but I certainly would not call myself a christian or go to church. If I cannot call myself a christian, I really would rather not get my dcs christened, I think I would be better off going for a naming ceremony but I can't still can't shake the feeling that a christening is important to me. So much so in fact I am even considering possibly starting to go to church to work out how I feel about the whole christianity thing, to help me decide which way to go. I know this sounds insane as i am not pg yet but it is something that I do want to get my head round before I am overwelmed with hormones! What do you think?
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By kayzisexpecting on Fri 02-May-08 14:19:03
I am not a christen but we had DS christened. I just said I was as did many of the people there as none of them are real christens.

You can just have a naming ceremony at a church if that's what you like.

Kay, if you are worried, ask for a scan/go private, but (and I know my ramblings won't stop the worry, I think worry comes with the territory) having no obvious symptoms really isn't anything to worry about. It annoys me when people try and make out that if you are really sick then the pregnancy is some how stronger, or healthier, it is utter bollox.

Playing, neither of us are christened, and neither are the boys, I agree with you in the point of I don't want to promise a lie, and I also think that in todays (and tomorrow's) society, I'd like to think that the kid's will take a long hard look before they 'sign up' to any religion, if that's what they wanted to do. Having said that, DS1 goes to a RC school blush

I just got some cheapy reins to see if they would do the job before spending a lot on them, and the resounding answer to do they work is nope! He still sits down whenever he feels a tug on them! One way or another he is going to have to get used to walking outside, I am not having a double buggy!

Oh and hoorahhhhh for Kayz DS
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By kayzisexpecting on Fri 02-May-08 15:24:24
You could get a buggy board maybe Nat.

DH doesn't think there is a problem either. Some of them said that their MW's have said that having morning sickness is a sign you have a healthy pregnancy.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By NatalieJane on Fri 02-May-08 15:26:06
Oh Tink, I don't know what to do about the doctors, with DS2 I did all I could to get out of going until the last minute, but this time, I really would like an early scan to put my mind at rest. I feel a bit of a dummy ringing so early blush
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By kayzisexpecting on Fri 02-May-08 15:27:27
Ring them. It wont hurt and then you can get an early scan.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By NatalieJane on Fri 02-May-08 15:28:26
MW are talking shite, you have already had a successful healthy pregnancy with no morning sickness, I've had two of them, others have had them. I think it is something like 40% of pregnancies have morning sickness, so that is 60% that don't!

Besides people who have MC's still get morning sickness, it really is no sign of things to come at all.
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By kayzisexpecting on Fri 02-May-08 15:30:21
I hereby promise to stop worrying from here on in!!
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By NatalieJane on Fri 02-May-08 15:30:55
I think I'll leave it till next week at least before I ring them.

I bloody hate going to the doctors for myself. Don't especially like it for the kids mind, but I always feel like I am just wasting their time, even when something is deffo not right!
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By NatalieJane on Fri 02-May-08 15:32:23
I thank you

It's like I said, worrying comes with the territory, and that goes for whether it is your first or seventh, and whether you have a 'history' or not.

You just have to make sure you balance the worry with the good stuff
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By kayzisexpecting on Fri 02-May-08 15:38:28
I get a scan in about 4 weeks so I'll just wait. As I said to Diege last night I can spend the £70 I would've spend on a scan on shoes and baby clothes.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By NatalieJane on Fri 02-May-08 15:40:43
It will be fine, and without making it sound worse as this goes for everyone, even if something went wrong it isn't because you had/didn't have a symptom.

Bit random but this morning while I was brushing my teeth my gums started to bleed in three places - and in the middle of the gum - not the top or bottom. It was quite painful and has never happened before. Now, googled it and what comes up but bleeding gums can be a sign of pregnancy! Now, almost certain there is no way I am, but how odd...Maybe it is something to do with hormone levels.....Any thoughts?

Cosmo, you did get your period didn't you? (or am I going mad - again?)
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By CosmogirlIsStillWaiting on Fri 02-May-08 16:11:19
NJ - yeah I think that was what it was. It lasted for only two days though. Have only done the deed once, with a condom, and that wasn't around the time of the EWCM.

Well you had a very odd cycle, it would explain the short 'period' especially after a long cycle, and your gums are bleeding.

I'd test just to rule it out, if you absolutely haven't had any sperm near your fanjo, not even a quick dip, or you touching him then touching yourself, then maybe still test and if BFN go to doc's. It might be worth you going anyway, to have only two days of bleeding after a long cycle is a bit odd - certainly not majorly odd, but odd all the same.

Thanks NJ. I am a bit worried now - self-diagnosing through google is not clever and now I'm getting concerned. Was a it surprised by the short period, if I'm honest but we literally have only done it the once with a condom and that was a few days before all the EWCM....oh bugger.....I'm seeing the Dentist on Tuesday, so I will see if he can tell me what might have caused it.

Cosmo, I'd test before you see your dentist, there are something they need to know before they do anything, and pregnancy is one of them.

I don't know whether to egg you on or not, can understand really wanting to be pregnant, but not just yet.

But one thing is for sure, you are much better off knowing one way or the other.....

Don't have a test in the house LL!! Was not expecting to need one until October. Trying to remain sensible and not attribute this to possible pregnancy. Probably just have dodgy gums. Has never happened before though so is rather strange. However, I did floss a lot the other day....could be connected...

Go and get a test, put your mind at rest. If there has been no contact whatsoever with sperm, then you do have very little to worry about.

And at this point you can take whatever the result as a correct one because of the timings.

Just do it really quickly and get it over with, no point stewing!

Kay, I think comments about sickness being sign of a healthy preganancy is meant as reassurance to those suffering - i.e feeling ill doesn't mean something is wrong, but just because that is true doesn't also mean the opposite is true - i.e not being sick is sign of unhealthy pg.

They say MS is good sign as most likely cause is that sufferers are sensitive to pg hormones that support LO till uterus takes over. If you don't get it, it just means that your body can tolerate the hormones better than somebody who does suffer from ms, not that there is a problem.

Having had MS for 9 months, i'd far rather be in your position!

I have weird tummy pains and bit of lower back pain today - could be muscle strain from all the GOF'ing mind grin.

OMG OMG!!! I can't belive I missed it Nat!! Many, many congratulations grin grin grin. What a star!!!And we didn't even have symptoms spotting either (or you kept them quiet grin). Have you managed tell dh yet? What a lovely start to the BH weekend smile. Can't stop grinning!! grin grin grin.
Cosmo, my gut feeling is that you're not pregnant based on times of gffing/condom, but as others have said, there's always a chance so best to test to rule it out (and to keep us all quiet!).
Kay, hope the dentist went well - you are braver than me - not been in years even when I got it free when pregnant.
Hi Tinks, tummy twinges a good sign, no?
Cals, I've been where you are on the career/mum front times 3. I also have to do a lots of travel (well, once a month) and am senior and well-respected hmm. And no emergency care from family frineds here either... I'm happy to answer anything/everthing that you might have wanted to ask about career/LOs on another non-wagon thread, and you can be guaranteed that I won't shout!! Totally with you on the safe haven thing!!!wink
Now Nat, where are you going to get your maternity stuff then grin
