Yes, its that time of the month, save your sanity (and the cash) by waiting as long as possible.

its really not that long to wait! and the longer you wait the more likely you are to get a proper bfp

I know, I know, and let's face it, if I get a bfn I'll just ignore it anyway. But I'm not working on Thursday and I will be near shops with tests in them...aaarrggh!

But I CAN do it.

Btw, each month I give dh a list of dates on which he will be required to "perform", thus removing the need to worry whether he will be in the mood at the right time. In return I have to wear saucy (or at least matching) underwear on the appointed occasions in order to facilitate the process.

And they say romance is dead.

oh I wish I'd seen this thread before I wasted my last CBD this morning... (2 days over if counting as a normal cycle, but I check my CM & think I ov'd late this month, so not 'due' till tomorrow, really). You just never believe the wretched things if they say 'not pregnant', do you?

Period due 1 week on Saturday so still too early to be even thinking of testing for me, but this month, as well as not POASing I will also not be taking my temp in the luteal phase as it's a PITA.

I am also trying to ween myself off OPK's, I was doing very well until CD14 then I caved, did one, and it was positive anyway so only one done this month!

I can get over this addiction, I can I can I can.

I'm being strong and waiting... Now on day 30 of 26/7 day cycle, but think I ov'd late and was due on today. I think. Have had some cramps, feel bloated, seem to be rather constipatedblush. BUT have only managed to buy some rubbish 'predictor' HPTs (thanks for that, Morrisonshmm), so absolutely no point in trying to test early with those. Am trying not to fantasise too much about a small sibling for the small child sleeping upstairs... May test tomorrow, but will try to hold off to the weekend. Trying very hard now.

One thing keeping me strong... DH is 40 in just over a week. If (if, if) I'm pg, how long can I keep it secret for? The later I test, the more likely I am to be able to give him the news as a pressie (if it is the news, of course, no getting carried away now...). I am hopeless at secrets, but he's away half of next week, so if I don't test for a few days (and if my period doesn't arrive) I might just make it!

Yes i did one, it came up not pregnant but i stupidly didn't read the instructions properly and didn't dip it for long enough <der>

I have only had faint pos anyway though (see profile), and pretty sure that if i am pg it happened on cd 18 or 20 so wouldn't show this early properly, with my ds i ov on day 18 and got a neg on day AF was due, didn't get a pos until 4 days late, so who knows.

i had a thread a few days back pretty much saying that i think that i am pg but too early to test and been having a funny month (tmi but had lots of cm? i think thats what it is? around the time of slip up! )

any way stil no period and i have had neg tests?
i have no idea when my period ended!? im soooo crap at keeping track!
i have a story book 28 days so think i am testing to early damn these early detection tests

i really dont think that my af will turn up.

my boobs have really started hurting today its the stabbing dull ache pain that i only get when pg

i have another test which i could try again in morn but am i best to wait a few days?

ffs

loads of cm boobs getting that stabbing horrible pain tired etc

Only 7 months since mc. For the first few months after mc I didn't have any boob pain pre period but before pregnancy had always had sore boobs pre-period. So for me it is normal. It's all about what is normal for you I think. So if it is not normal for you its a good sign just because its not a sign for me doesn't make it so for every woman. I hope that all makes sense What I mean is good luck and I hope it is a good sign for you! When are you due your period?

Hello fellow stick-wetters - had a faint positive with CB - more obvious when it had been standing for a while and then 2 negatives with first response. Was 2 days and 1 day before AF due (if cycle 28 days, sometimes late).
Anyone else had a false positive test - I know it says to disregard changes in test after first 10 minutes but can't help hoping - although don't feel pregnant. hmm

re boob thing - i still have a bit of colostrum looking stuff in my boobs, only comes out if i give them a squeeze - stopped BFing last August after doing it for 15 months. HV said nothing to worry about, but if its troubling you then ask!

I'm on CD31, AF was due yesterday and I've stupidly pee'd on the cheapie sticks and got a BFN. Thing is, I have no idea how long my LP is , or when I ov'd so I don't know when to test. I think the Bank Holiday is my friend as it'll stop me running to Boots for a decent test until Tuesday by which time Af might already have arrived.

Hi all. (Hi Lissie, thanks for the invite smile)

I'm here because, well this is what I'm like!!

I'm going to try to wait to poas until I'm at least a day late. Fingers Xd my will power will hold out until then.

I'm off to bed now but I'll be back tomorrow to hold-hands or distract if necessary and hopefully you can help me do the same.

Nightnight smile

really pissed off, had a tiny bit of spotting last night (just a smear of brown) could be implantation, or could be my period. im sure i didnt ov til thurs 24th so its too early to test. period is due on tues so cant decide whether i should test on tuesday or leave t til thursday. the advice i would normally give is "wait til thurs" but with my history we need to know asap so i can be scanned and start taking the drugs. aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhh when did it get so tough?

Hi Lissie, I have everything crossed for you (everything because I'm well passed OVing so no bding required grin)

I'm also expecting AF on Tuesday but will try to wait until Thursday (well, Wednesday but SSHHHH!!!)

I hope you come back to say you've not had any spotting since. Do you have to go on meds as soon as you get a BFP?

Chat you in a while.

thanks, well smear of brown has turned into full on spotting. so period is here. 3 days early ffs!
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By GluteusMaxiMum on Sun 04-May-08 18:37:39
I'm sorry Lissie sad

Please excuse my ignorance but are you sure it still can't be implantation bleeding? I'm really not too sure how long that's supposed to last if it happens or what colour to expect. How regular is your cycle and would 3days early be something that's happened before?
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By lissielou on Sun 04-May-08 18:46:38
i normally have a dead regular cycle, 2m ago my period was a week late. wasnt pg, was just late, last month it stopped then restarted, i doubt it is implantation, i dont feel pg at all!

how are you doing?
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By GluteusMaxiMum on Sun 04-May-08 19:08:23
Ah that's really shitty. I don't want to get too personal, if you're sure, you're sure but remember if every pg woman 'felt' pg then we'd have no need for early detection or any other kind of test. Symptoms change woman to woman, pregnancy to pregnancy so if you're not in full flow then there's still hope.

I'm not too bad but cramping a lot. I'm hoping against all hope that it's not the usual af cramping. I have what I can only describe as twitching or bubbling below my navel and centered. I've never had this before so it's either a really good sign or I'm about to spend a long time in the loo with a pre-cooled loo roll grin I hate the way af symptoms change for me every month - for instance this month no sore bbs hmm I get sore bbs every month!

I have tests but they're not ED ones so even if I wanted to pee on all 5 of them, I wouldn't be any the wiser. I decided today to wait until at least Thursday because I just don't want to see another bfn sad

Why are you sorry Lissie?

I'm going out now but just wanted to say hi and wish you the best for today. I'll pop back later this evening for a chat if you're about.

YNK I havn't read the whole thread and havn't chatted to you before so I debated leaving a message for you in case you felt I was butting in but I know that horrible sinking feeling when af arrives again and just want to acknowledge your post and hope you're doing ok. Take care.

this might be just the thread i need!

my cycle has been a bit iffy (part of the prob). I had an + OPK 15 and 16 days ago (didnt know you could get 2 days - there you go).

now Ive felt periody since Friday but nothing. I can tell DH is starting to get excited but doesnt want us to test.

I just know my period is going to arrive tomorrow, at work, and Im going to cry in the toilets!

so rubbish!

lots of luck everyone x

oh god, i know that feeling all too well. have you been to see the gp about your irregular cycle?
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By scared1976 on Mon 05-May-08 19:29:42
hi there. yes thanks but it is not too bad - only varies by 3/4 days - just enough to make it complicated.

Im trying *really really hard* not to get my hopes up (again) even though 16 days is I suppose a longish time since a positive OPK.

Have convinced self that my tits are heavier than usual. I swear, Id imagine I had a stripey green and purple face if taht was a common symptom of early pregnancy.

Why do our own bodies play tricks on us?!?

I am 2 days late and I know I'm not pregnant but can't help myself. I have prodded my boobs so much I
