Hiya

I'm sat in work and have really bad back ache, pain in my pelvis and it hurts when I walk (plus I keep feeling the need to walk like John Wayne) blush

My dates are up in the air, hospital say due August 15th (would have conceived November 23rd), but our original date was June 15th (would have conceived in September following a miscarraige). We did a preg test on Halloween so I KNOW we didn't conceive when hospital said we did. hmm

Just can't shake the feeling that I might be going into labour, baby has slowed down as well and I can feel her bum up near my ribs. I've put hubby on standby but my mum says I can't be going into labour

Any advice???????????????????

Wow - that's quite a gap in dates.

Following your dates, things could be happening. Should you speak to your midwife?

an 8 week difference in due date would be picked up on a scan, not like a few days... at a 12 weeks scan, you would have either been looking much bigger with a 20 week baby in there, or there would have been nothing to see

are you having any pains? lost any fluid?

what date did the 12 and 20 weeks scan give you and when you go the MW and she palpates you , are you measuring ahead or according to the august date

it is more likely you have SPD rather than prem laboru, hence pain and difficulty walking, but if you are worried you must call the hsopital

The 12 week scan was small, but the 20 week scan showed a larger baby with, as the ultrasound woman said, the longest thigh bone she'd seen. Measured top line for all the charts but they still refuse to look at the dates, bump has gone from 26cm at the end of last month to 32-33 this week. Got MW on wednesday, but she refuses to go against the hospital.

Pain in back is getting progressively worse during the day, I had severe hypereesis at the beginning of my pregnancy which resulted in me losing 2 1/2 stone in 14 days so apparently bump may not reach 'full size'

how many weeks does your MW say you are? and how many do you think you are?

if you are feeling progressively worse and are in pain, you should be checked out today

you really should go to hospital and get checked out
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By TotalChaos on Fri 16-May-08 13:26:04
agree with others, get checked out. even if not labour, could be something like a urinary tract or kidney infection causing the pain, that needs to be looked at right now.

I would speak to the MW and explain the symptoms and ask her to assess you.

As for the Hyperemesis - thats not something I had heard before. I had hyperemesis with my first and now my 2nd pregnancy and Edie was born 8lb 7ozs and this one is easily going to be around the same size. I also lost a considerable amount of weight.

The thing with Hyperemesis is you feel like poo - but baby gets everything they need and are rarely effected. Just don't want you thinking your baby is small as a result and then comes out a wopper!

there is a massive difference in dates and a scan is usually quite accurate, especially the earlier it is , at dating a pregnancy

i think you should be checked out, as has been said, you could have an infection

if it is prem labour or the start of something and you really aren;t due until august, you are in need of urgent medical attention,so i would call your MW now and see if you can get checked out ASAP

Don't believe the thing about hyperemesis and low birth weight.

I, and several people I know who were hospitalised with HG, had perfectly normal, even slightly larger than average size babies.

My first was 8 1b 5oz and the second was 9 lb 2 oz despite me losing 2 stone in the first trimester of each pregnancy.

I would get yourself checked out a.s.a.p. and ask for another scan, fake pains or say that you haven't felt baby move for a while or whatever it takes really as you can't be too careful.

Hyperemesis shouldn't affect your baby at all, I had it for the first six months, continouosly with my last pregnancy, DS was 10lb 3oz, so it didn't make any difference there!

Also my bump was measuring something like 10cms ahead of dates and my scan and LMP were only two days different so pretty bloody sure.

Not sure how it works out that you did a test on halloween and didn't fall pg until november unless you had a missed miscarriage or something between those dates, but dating scans are usually pretty accurate.

I'd get checked out anyway, if it's prem labour you'll need steroids and hopefully they'll eb able to stop it, even if it's by your dates it would still be prem and need help with it's lungs so either way you need to see someone.

Hiya all,

No sign yet, just the continuous pains and loads of leaking breastmilk today.

Back pain still present and keep feeling like I need to wee when I don't.

Also can't shake the feeling of 'killing time' waiting for someone to turn up?

Really feels weird now more than anything lol

the back pain, pelvic pain, pain on walking and feeling like you need to wee, sound like SPD or pelvic girdle pain, possibly

if you google you can read about them
