just that someone knocked on selling something, asked if i was the house owner, wondered if i coould get away with being au pair/ tea time gilr/ baby sitter...?>
She is homebirthing, she has been training her dh to catch Millie <finds a seat> I think I'll plonk myself over here quietly and feed Alex whilst we wait, you lot do the doulaing I've promised to help her if she decides to BF.
note to Millie:root for it girlie, ok?You hear me? Ask mummy for it and she will give you it!!
CAT Me squonk !!! or mail @ mothering instincts. com
just plonk millie on your tummy when she is born, and let her find her way to the breast.. if you only feed her for a few days, the colostrum is very valuable
lulu she wasn't sure how she felt about BFing, she didn't manage to try it with Jamie or Reilly but said if Millie roots she wants to give it a go. So I've been answering all her Q's and telling her just how wonderful she is and will absolutely love Bfing
Lulumama you certainly don't look in your 30's.... Belated congrats VS on your very bonny baby! He's gorgeous and I'm getting all antsy here waiting. Want to sit here all night for scorpios news!
VS, i am not having any more babies, so no more chances. i did try, no support. very cross abotu it. that is why i am so pro breastfeeding, at least giving the information and support to others
Oh I love following these threads, - do you think I could join myself, - baby due in about 20 weeks, - er, feeling kicks, - do you think this is the beginning?????
Same here, not enough support with DD Still we can make the difference with others Lulu, together, we can change the world
Actually I had DP telling me last night he thinks I should give up the notion of teaching and be a midwife instead cos I'm more passionate about it than English so now I'm all confuzzled! I'd love to do breastfeeding counselling do I combine it with midwifery??
Then they kind of passed the baton on to the HV. Kayz - I'll be able to help you with bfing, I think. (well, not physically help, but I can deffo advise)
I wouldn't want to go into midwifery unless I knew I could give the right info/support to BFers, I know how important the hospital midwives help was to me with DS1 and it's not something mw's get trained on is it?
All I got from MW's with DS was "He'll feed when he wants" But he would scream and we'd be told by the MW he needs feeding so when I tried all I got from her was "He'll feed when he wants" I could've hit her sometimes.
VS do the BF counselling separately! Studying with kids isn't easy (sigh), and most MW's are no more highly trained in BF than I am (Unicef baby friendly course- which I did with a large class of MW and HV).
Would also show the MW interviewers that you really want the course place, of course.
yes, egg... twas a real deja vu moment - I got two texts at the same time. One from you (about the kids waking up) and one from scorpio saying "I'm in labour" Made me to remember the last time I got a text like that
Last time I got a cat, it took a good few hours to come through.
Should I just post my mobile number on here then ask MHHQ to delete it?
eg - whaddya mean a ttc buddy? you only did it once and got two babies!!!!!
There's a mobile number for a phone thats not used for anything else that I have on the due in April thread that anyone can use if they want me to post something.
Its a day for babies. My friend had her twin girls at 1 this morning. She has only just decided to call them Daisy and Poppy. I can't wait to see them but I have to wait a whole week.
Just been catching up, having spent the afternoon setting up my new laptop - including about an hour on the phone to Orange trying to get it to connect to the broadband.....
Why thank you - I do so happen to agree with you there Squonk . DD1 is currently swimmin' in the bath tub and DD2 (love saying that now!) is reclinin' on the baby lounger seat thingy ... bliss.
Foghorn: I think we were in the same antenatal thread!??? (I was Bethbe in those days, - but don't expect you to remember, - and besides, when I read back my posts from then I hardly recognise myself)!
Wayhay, - two less kicks to go til I meet my baby...........
<Wonders how much Peachy would sell her LO for, or maybe rent, - for 20 weeks or so....>
Lulumama - that picture of me just having given birth is completely opposite to one taken after DD1's birth - I looked like I had been run over by a truck in that one! Amazing the differences between a first and second birth [amazed emoticon]
Yep the alcohol thread. Boy did I get some bollocking for that ! Surprisingly drinking a couple of glasses or red wine didn't occur to me at 3am in the morning whilst bouncing on my birthing ball with a misplaced TENS machine and trying to scream quietly enough not to wake DH!
Perhaps I'll give it a go this time, - since I plan to be a lot more focussed on strategy rather than epidurals!!!
Lulumama no way!? Is there evidence that it works? (ps. I'd rather have red wine than pethedine, - possibly, - said in my sane non-labour state, but not if it's going to slow things down, - unless I'm waiting for a 6 hour to come epidural of course)
