lulu - firstly, you have to make your profile public (or move it to your new name)

secondly - I have seen your pic before and I think you could pass for early twenties, but I think teenager is being a bit hopeful...

All I got from MW's with DS was "He'll feed when he wants" But he would scream and we'd be told by the MW he needs feeding so when I tried all I got from her was "He'll feed when he wants" I could've hit her sometimes.
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By Peachy on Fri 18-Apr-08 17:55:50
VS do the BF counselling separately! Studying with kids isn't easy (sigh), and most MW's are no more highly trained in BF than I am (Unicef baby friendly course- which I did with a large class of MW and HV).

Would also show the MW interviewers that you really want the course place, of course.

LOL Lulumama! I'll err take that as a compliment smile

Yep the alcohol thread. Boy did I get some bollocking for that hmm! Surprisingly drinking a couple of glasses or red wine didn't occur to me at 3am in the morning whilst bouncing on my birthing ball with a misplaced TENS machine and trying to scream quietly enough not to wake DH!

Perhaps I'll give it a go this time, - since I plan to be a lot more focussed on strategy rather than epidurals!!!grin

please do !

the ina may books talk about using vodka as a way to slow or stop prem labour, but i don;t think it would be advocated now !!

the pukey factor alone would put me off

Dizzydixes: September grin

Lulumama no way!? Is there evidence that it works? (ps. I'd rather have red wine than pethedine, - possibly, - said in my sane non-labour state, but not if it's going to slow things down, - unless I'm waiting for a 6 hour to come epidural of course)

only from ina may, in teh 70s,where it was all about the lurve and no drugs (except for the illegal ones! ) for birth.

i am sure if you research it, you could find something, but it will cross the placenta, same as pethidine etc

Dizzy: I see you're due in July! smile

I had a friend who had a BIIIIIG pregnancy craving for vodka. She hardly drank before that, and had real problems curbing it.

HCPs thought she had a problem, - well she did, - but not THAT kind of a problem!
