I enjoyed this book, and am amazed to find it nominated here. Although not written in quite the same style as *The Kite Runner*, which is one of my favourite books, it is nonetheless a well-written story which evokes well the situation of women in Afghanistan. I was impressed by the way Khaled Hosseini writes from the women`s point of view - I would not have guessed that this book was written by a man.

I was utterly gripped by this book. It opened up a whole world to me, I found the characters interesting and the descriptions of Afganistan really evocative.

I thought this book was excellent, as good as The Kite Runner, I couldn't put it down and also cried buckets. Don't know why its on the Worst book of the year, completely disagree!!
