Weaving Shadows - Margaret Murphy
With the Mumsnet

As an avid reader of crime this left me wanting. It seemed inconsistent, with many uninteresting, dull people about whom I didn't care a fig, and all the police officers became indistinguishable wuite early, the story was OK but it didn't get as much 'oomph' as it should have done. And to be quite honest some of the unravelling still left me in the dark, but I couldn't be bothered to work out what had happened so didn't re-read it!
The past story seemed to be more interesting than the present one but we didn't learn any more about that than is on the back of the book. Shame really. (Or is it a sequel?? Just checked and
yes it is! There is no mention of that on the book - so be warned!)
Also, seemed to get a guided tour of Chester everytime someone went anywhere. I know Chester a bit but I was lost (and completely uninterested) in the street names.
A light crime read in my opinion. Not really dreadful but could be so so so much better.
