We also booked through Baby Friendly Boltholes. The cottage has a fantastic location just back from the beach, and Whitstable itself is great. The cottage has plenty of toys, including bath and beach toys, and equipment. The shower is a combined steam room which was great. The cottage itself is definitely designed by a man with millions of gadgets and it is v minimalist which may or may not feel homely depending on your take on these things. The only downsides are, firstly, an incredibly annoying all singing all dancing multimedia and lights electronic system- controlling everything from fountains to blinds to lights- which behaves totally bizarrely and which meant that on occasion we couldn't figure out how to turn the lights off to go to bed. To be honest it was sooo frustrating we were glad to leave it behind! Also, the third bedroom is very much under the eaves, not particularly suitable for older adults and gets boiling hot in summer. Otherwise, a decent but pricey rental.

We found Hoy Cottage on the fantastic Baby Friendly Boltholes website. The cottage is perfect, open plan downstairs so brilliant for our little crawler, with everything you could need for a hols with a baby; toys, steriliser, blender, buggy etc. etc. You really don't need to bring any baby equipment with you. Location was brilliant, really close to the beach & town centre & a short drive from Canterbury and sandy beaches. Highly recommended!!
