We took a 4 night holiday here last October half term. WE HAD THE BEST TIME !!!!! Thats why we have booked the same week for this year. Hubby, myself and 2 boys, 5 & 6 yrs. Our room was perfect, clean, tidy, bright and comfortable. Boys had a separate room with bunk beds, set of draws and tv. Our bed was soooo comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space and good size bathroom. Our 2 boys attended the kidszone times, so we had 2 hours during the morning and 3/4 hours each evening to ourselves, I read a whole book during our 4 days, which is unheard of on holiday. Boys did lots of great activities, they were not just put in a room of toys and left to it, they made at least 1 thing each day, and the child care staff were professional and very nice! We have lived in the middle east for a few years and have been lucky enough to have eaten in some amazing restaurants, the food at the Hotel was some of the best we have every had! Yes its not a cheap holiday, but if you can afford it, or save for it, this is an amazing family holiday. We did tons of things together as a family and all got some valuable time to ourselves.

fantastic location, right on the huge expanse of sand that is Watergate Bay, perfect for active families. They have been upgrading the hotel over the last couple of years, and some of the rooms have needed it, but they are all looking pretty good now. nice that some of them have separate (small) rooms for the kids so you don't all have to go to bed at the same time. food is good, altho for some reason, breakfast doesn't match the evening meals standards. friendly staff and great laid back atmosphere. recommended.

We recently spent 2 nights at Watergate bay with 2 children, aged 3 & 8. Firstly our room was fantastic, as the kids had bunkbeds behind their own bedroom door (which even had their own TV in it!).
Needless to say the kids were very pleased and it meant that we didn't have to all go to bed at the same time.
On the first night there we ate in the beach hut, right on Watergate Bay. The service was fantastic but the atmosphere was wonderfully laid back. The food was great, we tried the fish - caught fresh that day. Delicious.
Back in the hotel we made the most of the swimming pool and showed both kids around the kids clubs. They also have a games room, where older kids can play computer games. This was a huge hit with my eldest DS.
After a blustery but great day on the beach, we made the most of the weather by having a drink in the bar, that overlooks the beach. It's a great spot to lose a few hours and next to it there's an outdoor play area for the kids.
In the evening we made use of the kids tea at 5pm and then both boys tried the kids club from 6:30 - 9pm so my DH and I could have a meal in the Brassiere.
The meal was fantastic and by the time we came back together at 9pm we were all happy and relaxed.
All in all the hotel and the staff really did everything they could to make sure everyone is catered for. They've also got plans in place for an extensive upgrade of the pool, spa and entrance area - due for completion in Sep.

We have stayed here twice, both times in school holidays. The hotel is well appointed, staff very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant food is just great. The family rooms - even the cheapest - are really nice, with separate sleeping area for kids with their own TV! Fab to be in walking distance of the beach. Loads to do in the area. Evening creche, in a dedicated facility, is totally brilliant, caring staff keep the children busy with lovely activites. Only downside is that the indoor pool is very small and a bit "tired", and could do with an overhaul. It's not cheap at Watergate bay, but you get a pretty good deal for your money, in my opinion. Overall, I recommend this hotel.

My husband and I have visited the hotel a number of times (probably c.8)as a couple and with our daughter who is now 2 years. We love the informality and also quality accommodation, food and service. However we need somewhere similar but different to go. Can anyone recommend somewhere else of a similar standard and facilities for young children. Particularly baby listening and good food??
