This is a fabulously child-friendly ski option, in a good location and with great food thrown into the bargain.
The key is that the owners, Francesca and Paul, run it as if you are guests in their own home, so they go the extra mile to find the right solution for you and your family - whether it be ski tuition, equipment, diet, extra-curricular activities or pretty much anything.
The chalet is situated a very short walk from the cable car into Avoriaz (to be upgraded to a high-speed gondola next year), which is purpose built and high enough that you can pretty much guarantee skiing from December to April. Avoriaz is one of those extraordinary high-rise purpose built French ski resorts, with main of the structures towering impressively out of the cliff face. But if Alpine village is more your cup of tea then head off to Morzine and Les Gets - all interlinked - so there's loads of skiing.
Chilly Powder run their own ski school with ESF instructors but small groups containing only Chilly Powder (ie English) kids, which takes the pain out of the whole ski school thing. After ski school you can opt for childcare from their team of English nannies, allowing you to ski a full day (or have a very long lunch).
The chalet is comfortable (rather than luxurious), very child-friendly and welcoming with a roaring log fire and cosy bar. Plus there is a games room with pool table plus an on-site treatment room for those essential post-ski massages.
Chilly Powder's USP, aside from their tailored approach to guests, is great food. Kids have tea early and the adults sit around a huge table to a proper four-course meal with unusually good wine.
There are family rooms as well as a couple of small chalets separate from the main one if you'd like a bit more privacy plus a hot tub and sauna.
All in all a really good option for a family ski holiday.
ps If you feel up for some thrills and spills after a day on the slopes head into Morzine for a toboggan ride at night down the mountain. And if you're into your mountain restaurants try La Crémaillère in the Goat Village for a special lunch and a lovely atmosphere.

A fabulous very personal chalet run by a couple and their 3 young children. Home from Home, fabulous food, ski to the door - My husband and I and our 4 children ranging from 6 months to 10 years old had a perfect holiday that we didn't think could exist with 4 little ones!

Fantastic - We have re booked!
I'm pregnant and came with my 2 children and husband. Ski to the door - inhouse creche for my 2 year old and an inhouse ski club run by Chillypowder but taught by ESF for the 5 year old.
Amazing food with a selection of wines. I've put on all my pregnancy weight in a week!
Would definatly recomend
We had a family room so it made it very good value for money

Our Family found Chilly Powder a wonderful chalet to stay at for our annual ski holiday in Morzine, France. I have 2 children, who were well accomodated for! I was able to leave my youngest at the in house creche for the week as she is to young to ski, whilst my son attended ski school in the morning with drop off and pick up options available! Which left myself, husband and sister for some free time on the slops when wanted! and the slops are right out the door!
The food was fantastic, a fresh and delicious meal was served each night accompanied with a good selection of wines!
The chalet has a childfree area for the adults to relax in with Bar and pool table facilities! The rooms are family friendly! only a 1.5hr transfer from geneva airport! I must say it's great value for money!

Husband and wife team Francesca and Paul, with support of the lovely Vicky run a wonderful warm and friendly large chalet dedicated to families wanting to ski. Somehow they manage to provide a holiday that is very focused on the children with great childcare facilities in house, while also providing adults with what they need too (fantastic food, a bar, a outdoor tub, massage/sauna). We were 2 families with a 6 yr old, two 4 yr olds and a baby. The child care facilities were excellent with very warm, friendly and competent nannies. The older children were taken to and from ski school for us by the nannys and Chilly Powder organised small sized ski lessons with an English speaking instructor who was great with children. In the afternoons and evenings the children were given fantastic home cooked meals that they loved. Activities were available to the kids in the afternoon such as trips into Morzine or little in house parties.
Our children loved the place; they made lots of new friends and one even cried on departure saying he wanted to stay forever!
The chalet itself is lovely centred around one large fireplace. Check the website out www.chillypowder.com as it gives you virtual tours of every room which gives you a great idea of how it looks and feels. The rooms vary in size and one thing we really liked was that we could all sleep in the same room which meant our children felt happier. We left the children at night in the rooms feeling very happy with the level of safety. Adults then all ate together a magnificent 3 course meal with superb wines. Asian night was a great hit with all with amazing starters, lots of noodles and side dishes and even Saki served with the wine.
My husband was very happy as there was a private den for adults with a pool table, and the kids also had their own games room for evening too with TV and snooker table etc.
In terms of ease of access to the slopes it couldnt be any easier with the cable car opposite the chalet taking you straight up to Avoriaz, and a blue run back to the chalet. I didnt manage it being a bit tricky in places but hubby skied straight into the back garden every day. The location is also nice and quiet with a lovely back garden backing the mountain and trees we had a great time and kids sledged in the back garden in the afternoons.
We couldnt recommend it more and we noticed that many families there were on their third visit, some twice this year!!!
