I had Maclaren Techno XLR for my baby girl, I am a very picky person when it comes to the puschairs. SO for my only baby this was my 5th pushchair!

I really loved it!

It had one hand recline, so that meant I could just recline her while she is asleep on the go. The little window on top gave me chance to see what she is up to. I live in London so use buses and tube all the time! So I can say this passes from the front of the bus! Which is a big bonus for this type of a pushchair! Really loved the apron/ footmuff as well. It's reversible covers were a godsend too. I quickly learnt how to take the whole thing, and the seat itself as well and chuck it in a washmashine during the potty train. As she had MANY accidents and I did not want a stinking puschair, so this fitted the bill! Even with a potty training it was fresh, as once you get used to it is quite easy to take it all off and wash them in the mashine.

My only negative point would be a raincover!

My toddler had many tantrums and tore it. I just stitched it and kept using it, but I think it should allow more room.

It was great for shopping as well, on that tiny basket I could get in a lot of stuff! And it does not topple easily as other pushchair!

And the extandable handles are GREAT! Being on the taller side, I always look for extendable ones! As I had a backache with others!

All in all, I really loved it! Worth every penny!

We love this pushchair. Easy to push and comfortable. We compared prices from all the major stores on PramSupermarket so saved a bit of money on the maclaren xlr.

Hope that helps.

We bought the xlr as we wanted a good sturdy city pram with carrycot - and also bought the britax car seat to fit into it. The carrycot was absolutely perfect for daytime sleeping....up to 6 weeks! My little girl outgrew it before she was 2 months old! For that reason I wouldn't recommend it - as now without the carseat addition then we would have had to sit a 2 month old baby in the main seat facing outwards (not what we wanted and she looks far too small!) I also struggle to collapse the pushchair and have to bend down and do it manually with two hands - again not ideal at all.

being a seasoned buyer of useless or inappropriate buggies over the past 3 years, I was rather pleased that I fell upon the XLR- started with some Mamas and Papas beast that I could barely push down the road, then ended up with a Maclaren Quest which was great for a while, until very heavy daughter mangled the back wheels...Bee was great too but too much of a faff for easy folding and unfolding.

I got the XLR when DD was 2.5 and already very tall for her age (she poked over the top of the Bee seat by the age of 18 months)...she used it a lot for 6 months and the wheels are still perfect. Great for a taller child too. The sun canopy is cool as it unzips so you can pull it right over and eliminates need for a parasol.

As easy to fold etc as the smaller models and not too heavy. Fine on buses. Comfy seat and harness, good footmuff and seat pad. Handles much better than Quest as not made of crappy foam which tended to peel off, but rigid plastic with metal ends.

My only gripe is that although adjustable in height, the handlebars are still very high up, especially for a small person like me...I miss my Bee's handlebars which went down very low...

The best bit for me is that should I ever have another child one day, you can stick the XLR carrycot inside (clips onto the fully reclined seat) and there you go- a cheap and very good/light travel system.

Groovy.

I bought this pushchair for my than 9 month old daughter. It was my third buggy in those 9 months. First Mothercare Urban Retour one was too big, second Quinny Zapp didn't recline.

I finally decided to get it and since have not regretted it. I think it is very comfy for my daughter as since this she doesn't want to go on any other. It is easy to push around. It took me time to get used to use the shopping basket underneath when fully reclined. I loved the fact that you can recline it with one hand. The hood unzips to go down on a sleeping baby and has a UV screen for hot months. I do not drive so I use buses a lot, with this one I can go from the front of the bus, but still have to ask people to take their feet in. I am on a taller side so extendable handle bars are perfect for me. I wish I had this from the very beginning.

The only thing I wish it was a little narrower, so I could go easily on buses in not asking people to put their legs in. OR people have to learn manners!

All in all I totally recommend this one!

I recently thought of getting smaller Maclaren but changed my mind, after trying it with my toddler. As we go a lot in a Richmond park and walk a lot, we need good pairs of wheels that do not get stuck!
