We read all the books and decided to use this one as our 'manual'. It has great advice on consistent sleep and feeding routines (EASY = Eat. Activity. Sleep. Time for you), and on ways to identify baby's needs (e.g if they are rooting and head-bobbing, they are hungry; if they are grisling and rubbing their eyes, they are tired). Her best advice was to put baby to bed as soon as she yawns.

Style was a bit waffly and long.

But hey, the proof is in the pudding. We have a very happy baby who slept through from dream feed to 7am consistently from the time she was 10 weeks old.

This book was really useful as a first-time Mum: good hints on cries, feeding and a good compromise on routines (a little bit of routine but not too strict). The Dream Feed was a life-saver for us too! However, the writing style is a bit waffley and a bit annoying. Basically, we got a few good ideas from it.

I did find this useful and would recommend it, but only as one of a few different books.

The useful aspects are that it can help to identify different types of cry and other non-verbal signals to help you understand what your baby wants. It also helped me to understand that not all babies are the same and to try and find out what worked for my baby.

However, at times it is quite preachy and some of the solutions didn't work for me.

Great book, it helped me interpret my babies body language and respond before they had even cried. I learnt that babies just don't need a boob stuffing in their mouth every time they cry and how to respond in the right way, three cheers for the rooting reflex!

Very prescriptive book , I would have found it almost impossible to breastfeed if I had followed this !
