I bought a second-hand Tripp Trapp from ebay, and it was immaculate considering it had been used for three children! It is such a design classic, and is the most sturdy highchair I've come across. It is so flexible - my son has used with crotch strap and reins, and now just crotch strap, which will in turn soon be removed. The height is easily adjustable, so that growing legs can be supported properly and given the room they need. The Tripp Trapp cushions come off easily and clean up in the washing machine and come out shining brightly each time (which is a miracle!).
I have also bought a playtray (not a Stokke product) but very very handy and easily cleaned/attached, with a big space and rimmed edge.
If anything the only 'downside' for some is that it can't be folded up and put away - but we didn't want that (despite not much space) as it's a gorgeous bit of furniture, and is used so much I'd be getting it out and putting it away all day long! The allen key is needed to put foot/bum bits lower or higher, add remove belly bar, change back/head rest - but most people have allen keys - and we keep ours close by now so we don't have the house upside down as and when we need to adjust it!
I wouldn't hesitate in buying another Tripp Trapp for number 2, as I can't see my son giving his up (or sharing it!) very soon as he loves going in it. I couldn't recommend this highly enough.

This seemed like a big purchase, but a decade and four children later it is still going strong and looking great.
As your toddler grows you need to adjust the seat down, otherwise it is dfficult to get him or her in. However, I don't mind this as being able to adjust for a perfect fit at every stage from weaning to adulthood is one of this chair's USPs.
Easy to clean, stable, robust, comfortable and attractive - what more can you ask? I just wish we'd bought the children one each as we went along.

Pluses: Looks good and takes up little space, and it's great for DD to be able to eat at the table at the same height as the rest of us. It's sturdy but if using the additional baby pack then you do need to make sure that the stabilisers supplied with it are fitted as it looks as though it would topple over otherwise.
Negatives: Value for money not a strong point, so I would recommend buying secondhand for your first child and then getting as much use as possible out of it. Initial price includes only chair, not the harness or the baby seat, cushion or tray, so there are a lot of potential extras to be factored in when budgeting to buy this. DD happens to be a skinny minnie but even then I felt the baby seat doesn't allow much room.

Boy, did I over research this one. Very easy to assemble, solid feel and takes up so little space (!), less than an adult chair. So thumbs up on design. However, at times my nipper looks darned uncomfortable in it. I made too much of a big deal about buying this chair, its just a chair at the end of the day and I should have just purchased something less expensive to do the job.

We LOVE this highchair! It is the best baby product we have bought. We spent a long time deciding where our money was best spent and we don't regret our decision at all. It is expensive but when you think about how many times a day your baby/ child will be using it, and that you will be using it far longer than a normal highchair, you will more than get your money worth. We also bought the Play Tray from Amazon to go with it which is brilliant.
