My wife had her finger tip amputated by the unsafe hinge on this pram. It was in fact recalled by the manufacturer in January 2011. Details can be found on the Phil and Teds website: http://philandteds.com/recalls-nz#sportclassic

When I first bought by Phil and Teds sport 2 years ago on the birth of my second child, I thought it was brilliant. 2 years on and with a 3rd child in toe I have really fallen out of love with it. I am using it more than ever at the moment and a there are a few real problems that I've found.

The biggest problem is the stability when used in toddler/toddler mode. It's downright dangerous. Twice now my babies head has hit the ground when my toddler has got out of the front. They say you must always have a child in the front if you have one in the back but this is just so impractical and in the heat of the moment you don't always remember. Arriving at the park and having to swap your baby into the front is a real pain. If you put the heavier child in the back then the whole thing feels unbalanced anyway and there is no room for their feet and shopping.

We have also had no end of problem with the wheels and tyres. As well as multiple punctures we have actually had the wheel rim melt in the boot of the car on a hot day and had to replace the wheel.

There are always arguments about who sits in the front and the child in the front can't have the seat reclined without seriously restricting the space for the child in the back.

The buggy is heavy to lift into car and actually not that manoeuvrable when you've got two in there.

Yes I really don't like this pushchair. I have decided to buy an out and about nipper 360 double to see me through my final year of double buggy use. I hope this is much much better.

Made up with our Phil and Teds buggy. Its fantastic and the best that we could find for a toddler and a baby at the same time. Really easy to manoeuver round the shops and on the grass in the park. Allthough they are reasonably expensive they hold their value really well so we sold ours on for not much less than we paid new. The only issue i has is it is quite heavy to get in and out of the car.

Love this. So glad we bought it. Really versatile and perfect for my two kids. Easy to handle even with two kids in it. Lots of storage - I have the panniers as well, only use one but adds to the storage available.

Loved the cocoon - great for those early months.
