I'm a real fan of this series, and have quite a few, vegetarian, one-pot meals, cheap eats, cakes and bakes, etc. Straightforward reliable recipes, well laid out with good photos of each dish make these more useful than a lot of those £25 tomes that you will only ever make one or two things from.

I have a few of these and use the "Cheap eats" , "Bakes and Cakes" and "for kids" books regularly.

The recipes have been featured in Good Food magazine so are probably available on their website but I like having a real book rather than laptop to cook from.

Like the magazine, the recipes are described clearly and are often straightforward. There is a picture that accompanies each recipe. I end up cooking most Good Food magazine recipes a couple of times before finding the perfect results. For example my children enjoy crunchy food so I might add extra pine nuts or might use raw rather than cooked carrots. I find that a lot of the recipes are adaptable so you can easily swap ingredients eg. fish for meat or leave ingredients out without affecting the final result.

I can definitely recommend this for cooks who are not able or willing to go for "fancy" recipes that have long ingredients lists and are too time consuming for every day eating.
