This is a great carrier. We're using it for DS at 12 months. I debated for ages about which carrier to buy as he's getting too heavy to carry for long in the Mamas & Papas Morph carrier we've had since he was born.

He weighs just under 11kg and isn't a big baby so I'm glad I didn't let the fact it's advertised for 18 mos plus put me off.

I can happily carry him for ages in this and it's very simple to get on and off. The waist support is very thick and sturdy, and takes a lot of the weight, which feels great on my shoulders.

It is a little tricky to get DS into the backpack carry position but I've practised lots over the sofa and can do safely now! That said, I imagine it will be easier when he's bigger.

The front carry is just perfect as his weight is distributed nicely and he also feels secure. So much so that I've been able to confidently run for buses whilst wearing him.

This carrier is worth every penny, they also sell well on eBay, so you can't go wrong.

Great sling for toddlers. I used mine from 12 months + but my DD was a heavy / tall baby. She still fits in it now at 3. Extremely comfortable.

I agree with the reviewer that said she couldn't make the straps short enough - I found this a problem especially in summer when not wearing lots of layers, and I'm not particularly small so very petite women may struggle.

I found it easy to put on and take off on my own once I'd got used to it. But don't unclip the waist strap when your toddler is still in the sling and drop them on the floor like I did (she was ok thankfully).

I had been after a patapum for a while and was very pleased when I found one 2nd hand on a babywearing website. I paid around £35 for mine.

This sling is a little on the large side for me as a petite personage! and found I couldn't make the straps short enough. However as my charge grows I am finding it more and more comfortable.

This sling takes the weight of your LO on your waist. It is quite fast to put on and take off due to the clip closings, it is also fairly straight forward to adjust for different sized wearers.

Due to the construction there is a minimum of fabric making it a good choice for the summer.

I like the fact that all the loose webbing can be folded into a elastic loop keeping the straps tidy and leaves nothing trailing around to get in the way.

At 18months my charge was too small for this sling really, it was however comfortable enough to wear for up to 1 hr but now she is 21months she has defiantly grown into it.

When its not in use I have found a way to fold it up so it can be carried over my shoulder like a handbag which is handy cause when your LO is 1 1/2+ they do like to have a walk from time to time!

Overall I am pleased I have this sling I would use it over a conventional baby carrier any day.

Have used the toddler Patapum with my 2-year old daughter for several months and continue to carry her on my front (for cuddles) in extreme comfort and also light and comfortable on the back.

They're also meant to keep baby snuggled close (like a piggy back with support) and not 'hanging' from your shoulders. Also like the thick, shaped waistband.

Good value for money rather than investing in a carrier only suitable for the first few months.
