Carrying my DS in my Hug-a-bub and breastfeeding are the two things I miss the most now DS is 3.5yo. Both myself and my DP loved used the Hug-a-bub and although I have sold a lot of DS' things on ebay I refuse to part with the carrier.

When I see women wearing their babies I feel a little jealous that I can't do it anymore. I used my hug-a-bub till DS was 18 months I think and it was so comfortable.

It takes a little while to get the hang of it and I used to have to tie it for DP when he wanted to use it, but once we got the knack of it it was easy.

When DS was 7MO I went on an extended holiday to see my family in Brazil and on the flight the hug-a-bub was a lifesaver, I even checked in my stroller at the airport and carried him around instead.

I definetely recommend it. It's worth every penny!

My friend gave me her hug-a-bub so it looks like I got a bargain!

I do find the material sags a little after baby's been in it a while (he's 4 months), which could be because it's been used a lot already. I also struggle to get it even so it often feels like one side is supporting him/me slightly better than the other.

Having said that, it does spread the weight around brilliantly. We have another clip/buckle baby carrier and that hurts my shoulders after 10 minutes of carrying, whereas this one doesn't at all and is very comfortable.

When DS decided he didn't like travelling in his pram any more, I went shopping with him in my hug-a-bub, so was carrying him for about 1.5 hours including the walk into town. I was very tired by the end but only from having carried an extra 13lb around.

He doesn't sleep easily so this has been a life-saver for all those times I've had to sway / walk him off to sleep: I would have strained by back long ago just carrying him around in my arms.

Really great starter wrap - transformed the newborn months for me and meant we could just get on with life in comfort.

I've used a Hug-a-Bub with both my daughters and it has saved my sanity. We didn't have a buggy for the first and the hug-a-bub travelled with us to Mexico for six months as our only mode of transporting her. On the plus side it is light, she loved it, and it is comfortable for mum and baby from birth. On the minus side I found it stretched a little over time (but we did use it a LOT) and it isn't cheap for what it is. The Kari-me does the same thing cheaper I think. However, a fabric sling has been the best thing we bought for a baby and I would recommend it wholeheartedly

This was great for the first 8 weeks or so, particularly when I needed both hands to deal with the other children at bath time for example, because the baby's head is supported well. However, I found that as the baby got heavier, the fabric stretched so that even if you tied it tightly, they ended up sagging nearer to your thighs. You have to remove the baby to retie it, which is not always convenient. Have gone back to my sling easy.
