I had this seat for two years and it's the worst product I've bought for my child thus far. It cost a fortune and the strap mechanism was initially stiff and then gradually became worse to the point where we could not adjust anymore. Also, when she was younger she was able to wriggle her way out. I am astonished how after so many customers' complaints, Maxi Cosi continues with this product. DO NOT BUY!

My 3 year old can slip her arms out of the straps and the straps also fall off her shoulders even when pulled tight. Strap mechanism had to be repaired. Seat does feel secure and at the time as the best fit for our car but I wouldn't buy it again.

Both of my children can slip their arms out of this seat, even when the straps are fully tightened, but I do find it easy to fit, if a little heavy. The kids love it, and the recline is much better than on other seats we've had (Britax, I'm looking at you...) The only other downside is that the buckle tends to get caught on the childs clothing when they're being lifted out, we've had a couple of ripped dresses and my friend said the same about hers.

We have 2 of these, which we bought because we thought they would be the safest option. However, both my daughters (the oldest has moved to a booster seat) can manage to get their arms out of the straps, even if they are pulled tightly. It seems to be that the straps sit quite wide on the shoulders, and if the child is on the narrow side, the straps just slide down on the shoulders.

I have two of these and have two problems, one has stopped reclining, a quick Internet search indicates this is a common problem and you have to dismantle with a screw driver and re-fit a bolt, I'm uncomfortable dismantling a safety seat! Secondly a friend with a wriggly determined baby wriggles his arms out of the straps almost immediately, although his mum says he does this in all seats. This said, the seats are easy to install, and the babies look as happy as Larry sitting high up with the big people, but the broken recline would mean I would not recommend to a friend.

The review scoring on the web page asks you to score 'ease of installation' 'portability' and 'value for money' NOT ease of use - bad scoring system mumsnet!
