The seats are "big and comfortable", the straps "wide" and the child can sit upright or reclined which "is great for sleeping and long journeys", although some found the reclining mechanism "tricky to use". Another plus point is that it can be used with lapbelts as well as three-point seatbelts.

I bought a second-hand Britax Freeway to take on holiday to Sri Lanka recently. It was exactly what we needed: lightweight; easily and quickly installed into several different cars and taxis. It can be fitted into the car using a lap belt, which is the only thing the taxis had available. We checked it in at the airports for no extra cost. We did two really long taxi journeys - both 6 hours and my 18 month old son slept comfortably in this seat. I thoroughly recommend this seat for a 'take on holiday' car seat.

easy to fit, move about and recline. But I've had it almost 2 years now and need a new car seat. Where I've washed the cover it has shrunk and no longer stays on properly, despite washing cool, and the polystyrene is coming away so it isn't lasting well.
