I'v got the ventura plus S which is meant to last longer, 15kgs I think although I'm looking to change it already at 8 months!! My LO isn't huge, she's 8.5kgs but her legs are getting too long now and against the actual seat of the car!! Plus she's not sleeping straight away like she used to in it and I think she'd benefit more from a forward facing now she's older.
It's also very heavy to carry, I manage to carry her in it but it kills your thighs as it bangs on them!!
The cover and hood are great though and installations easy once you get the knack!! Wish they did it with an isofix base though!!
I used it as a travel system with the surf and couldn't fault it.

great looking seat, heavy though but most are this size.when my baby was 4 months she was already in the top harnesses and when i rang silvercross they said once the straps are over 2cm below her shoulder then she's too tall for the seat.she only weighed 13lb! her shoulders kept coming out of the straps as they were going up and over her shoulders.i ended up buying a graco logico car seat with more harness slots.
loved the way it clipped straight onto the chassis of my pram but not much good as it only lasted us 4 months.

Have been using this car seat for 6 weeks now. Pleased with it on the whole, it clips on and off the pram frame very easily, it is very sturdy and my daughter always falls asleep instantly in it. Getting the seatbelt in the top clip is fiddly and awkward sometimes. It is heavy, and I do have bruised thighs to show for carrying her in it, even only short distances, but she seems to like it which is the main thing. It looks good with the Linear Freeway system too.
Most shops offer it in a deal with a Silver Cross pram - I bought the Linear Freeway (pistachio) for £295 in a local Silver Cross retailer, and got the carseat for £70 which I was happy with.

This was a great seat initially, apart from the hassle of having to take off the hood every time we put it in the car. However, as our son has grown, the problems have been revealed! His legs were soon too long for the cover, the weight of the seat meant that I could hardly carry it with him in it from about 4 months and, at 6 months, we are now having to change seat as the harnesses are too low (the instructions are quite explicit about the fact that they should be level with the shoulders, and this has not been the case since he was 4 months old, and the difference is now too huge, and we've been advised that this is now a safety issue). Thankfully, our son is sitting well, so we do have some flexibility with choosing a new seat, but it is an expense I hadn't wanted to splash out on yet.

Looks great, fits into car easily (after a few practices), feels sturdy and safe. Foot muff is lovely and warm, but the velcro which attaches it to the seat is a bit weak and easily unattaches, especially when baby's legs get a bit longer. It's also rather heavy which wouldn't be such a problem if you have a small baby but my son is huge so have to struggle to carry it with two hands. Also great when used with the 3D pram, my son stays asleep for hours in it. Shame there's no isofix base made to go with it for easier installation.
