Britax Baby-Safe

Fantastic car seat, now using it with 2nd baby. Easy to fit (we have belted base) and very secure. Lots of 0+ seats only have 3 point straps, Britax has 5-point harness which is very quick to release and secure. The adjustable headrest which is attached to the shoulder straps is an amazing design! One hand to adjust the height with nothing fiddly to thread through the seat.

We have the B-Mobile buggy, which is also fantastic and use it with or without the car seat attached for our toddler and baby.

The car safety tests NCAP use Britax car seats...

We experienced the same problem with our 4 month old falling forwards in the seat. We contacted Britax and they sent someone out straight away. The problem is with the angle of more sporty seats. The Isofix base is adjustable but only by a Britax fitter. Within minutes the seat was at a better angle. Just waiting to test it out on a longer run. Ten out of ten to Britax Customer Service - could not have been more helpful or nicer.

i have to agree with the previous review and only wish that i had been able to find some negative reviews of this car seat when i was looking to buy some months ago. i also have noted that my baby looks thoroughly uncomfortable and crunched up in the seat and his head rolls forwards which has meant that one of us has to sit in the back to keep an eye on him and when i take him out on my own i am constantly looking behind to make sure he is ok...i bought one of those headhugger things by sunshine kids which has helped to cushion his head better within the headrest and this has stopped the rolling forward somewhat but do still think that the overall position is too upright and he still looks like his head is too forward nd his chin pushes down towards his chest which obviously can restrict his breathing,- i use this with the isofix base...i had concerns with this seat from the start but before buying i tried it out in the car and it seemed fine and spoke to mothercare britax expert fitters about it...once baby arrived i had concerns that he didn't look right in the seat and took it all to mothercare to get one of their 'expert' fitters again to have a look at it. i was then told that the isofix results in the seat being pushed upwards more so than with the seatbelt fixing - defeats the whole point of isofix. also the car seat harness is really stiff to click shut. wouldn't recommend the car seat there is much better out there

After doing hours of research, and spending time with Britax reps, we decided that our travel system of choice would be the Britax B-Smart with the Britax Baby-Safe plus SHR car seat. We brought our newborn home from hospital in the car seat, and have used it a couple of times since. Each time we use it we notice how uncomfortable she looks in it, as her head slumps forward or to the side. This took a turn for the worse last week, when after a 10 minute journey home, my daughters head was slumped forward, her face had turned blue and she was clearly distressed. Thank God it was such a short journey as any longer like that and who knows what could've happened. We have now had to buy a different seat (a maxi cosi pebble), which is not compatible with the pushchair, so have the added expense of forking out for a whole new system. Please, please do not buy this car seat.
