Great campsite! Ideal for first-timers (as we were), and we liked it so much we've been there 2 years running!

The pitches are huge (this year we had a 5-man Vango with canopy PLUS the car on the pitch and there was still loads of room, there were bigger tents than ours on other pitches too.) Pitches are only around the edge of the field so there's plenty of safe, enclosed space for the kids to play in the middle. Hot showers, washing up facilities, toilets - all really clean, the owners are back and forth all day cleaning them. Firdge-freezers (communal) available to store food and drink. Local farm has a stall every morning for bacon, yogurt, cereal etc; eggs and milk available from the house; nature walks etc, throughout the summer; bike hire. A lovely quiet site, and it's barely 10 mins' drive from Wells, Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet for supermarkets etc.

I have nothing negative to say about this site at all. It's a fab site with really friendly owners.

Greenacres Camping is in the most fantastic location in the middle of the lush Somerset countryside. It's small (40 pitches), simple and flat.

Best of all Greenacres does family camping fantastically well, with enormous pitches big enough for our 8-man Vango tent 3 times over.

Tents are spread around the edge of the site, leaving a space the size of several football pitches in the middle for the kids to run wild. There are swings, slides and wendy houses for the little ones. Games of rounders, cricket and football kick-off most days.

Greenacres doesn't accept caravans, which for us makes for a much friendlier atmosphere all round. The toilets & showers are basic but immaculate. There are free communal fridges too to keep the cider cold! The site had new owners in 2009 - Duncan and Mary - who run it as a family business with their girls. They could not be friendlier or more helpful.

And the location/views/wildlife - stunning! Glastonbury Tor on one side and the Mendip Hills on the other. 10 minutes to Wells, Glastonbury and Wookey Hole, 15 minutes to Cheddar Gorge, 1/2 hour to Longleat and 3/4 hour to Bath/Bristol. It's great for cyclists too(just off a National Cycle Route) .

A mobile shop visits Greenacres through the season, with local organic food, and they sell eggs in reception from the chickens that wander the site all day. They're really tame and the kids *LOVE* feeding them.

I suggest you go and see for yourself. I bet you'll fall in love with it just like we did!

Note: The correct village name is NORTH WOOTTON (not Woolerton) - postcode BA4 4HL.

This site was fab, loads of room, (we have a massive tent) only 40 pitches so not on top of one another (some with electric hook-ups) massive 'football' pitch in the centre and a nice play area (with play houses) for the kids!

Basic, but clean, showers, fridges, freezers and microwave (only to be used for sterilising bottles).

We had such a lovely weekend here, the owners live next door and are always around, and were lovely. The local area was stunning (30 mins from Longleat, 30 mins from Glastonbury and 15 mins from Wells.)

I would highly recommend it to anyone.

(sorry no caravans)
