All round, a good site.
A beautiful setting, stepping out of your tent in the morning and looking up at the surrounding hills is wonderful.
Facilities are ok and kept fairly clean throughout the day. I thought 50p for a less than 4 minute shower was a bit much. The site fees aren't cheap anyway, so bear in mind to add on at least £1 per day per person for a decent shower if you want one.
The pond and adventure playground will keep children occupied all day in all weathers. Make sure you pack their crocs/sandals for playing in the water as some of the stones are sharp!
The local shop is very well stocked with all of those bits and pieces that you might have forgotten and sells icy cold wine and beers :)
There are plenty of beautiful walks and bike rides, the miniature railway stops at the site and there are two good pubs to eat at, one within walking distance, the other a good walk or short drive away.
Highlight of the day is sitting around a campfire, sipping wine, watching the sun go down and toasting marshmallows. We will return again next year.

Fab, very family freindly site with big adventure playground and best of all you can have campfires! Only down side is you can't book, so if you arrive late, you may struggle to find a good pitch.

Peace, Perfect Peace. - But only if you go, pre-Summer Holidays and Not on Bank Holidays.
This perfect pitching ground is ideal for families wanting to experience camping and the scenery and the walking the Lakes Provice. Nestled in the Eskdale Valley, Fisherground is an ideal starting ground. Pitches are a plenty, and space will always be found even in the busy periods. There is a no noise rule after 10, and groups of teens are not allowed.
There is a play park for the kids -rope swing, tyre swings, little lake and tyre rafts. There are endless woods and rivers and lakes to explore. The Ravenglass Minature Steam Railway runs through the campsite through out the day. Heading to Ravenglass on the Coast to Dalegarth a stop up the line. Coffee Shops and walks aplenty at either end.
The surrounding countryside -at your feet. Walk, walk and walk. Easy walks, difficult walks, high walks, flat walks. Clear rivers you can jump into and have your breath taken away from you with the cold. Lakes on hill tops, where you can share the water with some sheep drinking!
In the evenings, the campsite calms down as people settle in front of their campfires! Yes, Campfires allowed here - albeit in existing fire holes. But to sit in the warmth of the Summer Evening, watching the smoke from many fires drifting up and making a wavering cloud above the campsite, and the stars twinkle through - is heaven.
Facilities are basic, but all you need. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing more required!

A brilliant, fairly low-tech but high adventure campsite, perfect for families.
It is set in a beautiful part of the lake district and has a great little train station nearby.
The site itself has great facilities for children such as a massive adventure playground and a large pond with rafts on.
It is very family focussed as there is a zero tolerance for noise policy after 10.30pm.
No shop on site but there is a local village shop.

Just come back from a fantastic week camping with my four grandchildren at this site in the Lakes. Can't recommend it enough for children aged between three and thirteen - babies might drown if not supervised! Seriously though, we had a wonderful time. Smallish site doesn't take bookings, so can be a bit pot luck. Only six hook-ups so be ready to rough it. Toilets and showers etc ok though. Don't use your SatNav - it will take you over the Hardnott Pass and Ryenose Pass - we found out the hard way - the car was smoking! and the kids were very, very, very quiet! (terrified!)
