We loved this site. Small, no caravans and great facilities. The family bathroom for a site of this size was a great bonus. The shop sells some fabulous meat, pies and bacon and you can buy individual beers by the can, which is excellent if you are partial to a very cold beer at the end of the day.
The mahoosive tramploine was the highlight for the dds.
Short walk to two good pubs and the steam train.

sound destination campsite, with plenty of things to do - as long as you like walking
Good quiet area, decent nearby pubs & there is always the railway when the kids get worn out
Wonderful views

A super little site at the head of the Eskdale valley, just below Hardknott Pass. Boot has 2 nice pubs with good food/beer within 10 mins walk of site. Site facilities better than many hotels/B&B's!!! Excellent little site shop selling basics plus chilled beer/wine and locally produced meat and bread. Long drive to civilisation (High St shops) but fabulous walking. Site has a little stream for paddling and a small childrens play area. No space for ball games. Walkers paradise - not much for non walkers. Near a farm so noisy due to cows bellowing at dusk and sheep/cocks at dawn!!! May need rock pegs - 5cm of top oil on top of stony substrate. Ravenglass - Eskdale railway is a good days trip if you like steam railways (DS does).

Lovely campsite where you can have campfires. Near to the Ravenglass and Eskdale miniature steam railway.
