Huttopia, Versailles, France

We stayed here in August 2011 with our 3 year old boy and 6 year old girl. We were in our camper van, but my parents met us there and stayed in a roulotte (gypsy caravan).

We really loved the site and the way it was set within the woodland. It was very handy for Paris and the Palace of Versailles and while we were there we didn't use our van--just used public transport to get around. My parents also came by plane and travelled across Paris to the site by train so you don't really need to drive.

The pool isn't massive and is a bit chilly, but my daughter loved it, and it's handily placed next to the bar area. My son was a fan of the table football. There is also a simple play area and outside ping pong table.

My parents' roulotte was lovely and cosy and the kids stayed there for a night in the bunk beds. They also made friends with children in different types of cabin so we got to check those out--all look great and have different levels of comfort. The communal bathrooms were clean and attractive, although busy.

Brilliant campsite that has acres of woodland for children to explore and cycle through and is just a tube ride away from the centre of Paris. Staff are friendly and helpful and the whole site has such a sense of community about it. A great experience for kids and adults!

Great convenient campsite. Very clean with very helpful staff. Easy to get to and from Paris. 5 year old loved the pool and playground which were simple.

This site has log cabins to hire, complete with wood burners, or gypsy style caravans, or a ridge tent, or your own. The site is set in woodland in the picturesque town of Versailles, famed for the Chateau of Versailles. The train station is a 10min walk away and from there it's just a few stops to the heart of Paris.

It's an ideal location for exploring Paris and the surrounding areas. You don't need a car as the bus and train services are excellent.

The campsite is equipped with on-site barbeques, a restaurant, a breakfast bar, a games and TV room and a play area for the kids. Just next to the site is a sports area and all around is the most beautiful woodland. Bikes can be hired from the sports area.

We stayed in a gypsy style caravan which was well equipped and cosy. The staff were really really friendly and the kids loved it! Even now I think they rate that holiday as the best they've had so far.
