This is the most beautiful campsite I've ever stayed on. It is small and quiet and is right on the banks of the river Dordogne; brilliant for swimming, fishing, playing in the water and canoeing. You can hire canoes on site - the campsite owner drives you up river and you take 3 hours or so to canoe back down to the campsite. The site is a short walk to a beautiful village with excellent restaurants. Although there are no shops in the village, the campsite shop had everything we needed; daily fresh bread, croissants, milk, fruit and veg, yoghurts, chesse, dried pasta, tins etc. There is also a small takeaway bar with tables, doing pizzas, sandwiches, salads, chips. The campsite laid on some very interesting and unique circus type entertainment once a week - a real experience for our children. It's a medium size site and has no kids clubs. The only downside to the campsite is that the owners were grumpy and well, sometimes downright rude... but I guess when you work the season it can get a bit stressful. The washrooms, toilets and showers were not spanking brand new but there were enough of them, and they were kept very clean. Most of the people staying on the site were Dutch or British. There is a basic play room and also a small outdoor play area with The pool complex consists of a baby pool, deeper swimming pool and a small waterslide.
