Samantha Smythe's Modern Family Journal
With the Mumsnet
Book Club already thriving, we thought it about time we started reviewing grown up books and for this category we're looking for books published in the last year or so that are easy reads, something uplifting to take to a sunny beach, or to pick up in a quiet moment at home (should you be lucky enough to have one of those). At some point when we've reached a critical mass we'll be handing out a dazzling literary award to the winning book (watch out Mr Booker) so please add as many reviews as you like and feel free to comment on other folks' choices. As ever, if you have any suggestions for new categories you'd like to see, please send them over to contactus@mumsnet.com.

Funny and well written, very easy to enjoy. Kept me awake a few nights, highly addictive -like a box of chocolates those little chapters - just one more...!
Believable, interesting characters, a brilliant light read, outstanding in its class, would get a rosette if it was a horse or a guinea pig, no doubt about it.

Fantastic read. Great characters which are fully formed and easy to empathise with.
(Nice short chapters too, so it's easy to squeeze a couple in between chores!)
