The bigger Kid Comfort III is probably the best backpack available for the serious mountain walker, but it can be just a bit too bulky for more casual use. The Kid Comfort II is more versatile - suitable for anything from hiking to shopping trips. Its swing-out foot is not as pretty as some more streamlined brands, but it's a lot more stable and this makes it easier to get your child in and out. Like any top-quality backpack it takes a little time to adjust it to your shape, but once you've got it right it is supremely comfortable and can be used for hours without strain. (Be sure that the weight is taken mainly on your hips and not on your shoulders)
