Just BRILLIANT. Well thought out design, excellent quality and very, very comfortable. We bought ours second hand on ebay as they are expensive new, especially with all the accessories. Our son is 9 months old and seems to love being in it. Very happy indeed.

Commments from other Mumsnetters:
Great for dedicated walkers and townies alike, the Possum has many of the design features of the Vamoose but is not so pricey. Everyone found the back adjuster "so much simpler to operate than other models" and all reviewers said they could "wear it for a good few hours without discomfort". Babies seemed happy too: "My daughter loves it and it keeps her bone-dry even in pouring rain". There's masses of storage space plus a pocket at the front complete with mirror, which is "great for checking on sleeping babies".

Superb product, and the quality shows. The real advantage is the harness system which is based on the very well proven Macpac system for climbing / trekking backpacks. This means you can carry quite a lot of weight for longer, as the harness distributes the load well on your hips and back, and is totally adjustable for comfort and fit. We bought ours on ebay and started using it when DD was 6 months old for short walks, increasing to quite long and challenging walks as she has got older. She LOVES it, and often bangs her arms up and down in glee as we put her in it. DD is happy to fall asleep in it which is great for long walks. I would definitely recommend the Macpac possum if you are in any way serious about your walking. Pre-children we did a lot of climbing, camping and trekking, and the Possum has allowed us to continue this lifestyle to some extent, plus introduce our DD to having fun in the outdoors. We were already fans of Macpac gear and the Possum is a brilliant addition to our collection. I would recommend getting the accessories. We use the shade frame (sombrero) and pillow mostly. My only complaint is that the sombrero frame does not fit neatly in the pack if you remove it part way through a walk, but we have taken to leaving it on the whole time, and just rolling the sides up or down as needed.

We found Macpac to be an excellent choice of backpack for our children. It is very comfortable for both child and adult. Well worth the investment if you do a lot of walking and want the flexibility carrying a child in a backpack offers.
