Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

This game is lovely. Full of great graphics, your child gets to look after and treat all sorts of animals. Has also had a good side effect in that it has really improved my daughters reading skills.

A fun game for animal lovers - you get to look after sick animals and make them better. You start on cats and progress to horses, so it's pretty ideal for girls 6+. My daughter certainly enjoyed it.
