This is a truly wonderful game, although what you make of it depends on how much time you are willing to invest into it!

A very brief outline of the game is, you are a newcomer to a town full of animals and you are completely homeless and penny-less! In steps Mr Tom Nook the owner of the store, and also local estate agent it seems, who is happy to give you a job to get you on your way and a house to live in - but also a lovely mortgage to go with it!

In the game you must do a few errands for Tom Nook before being allowed your freedom to do as you wish in the town! This will usually consist of running around, keeping the town tidy, doing errands for the local townsfolk and filling up the museum with fossils, bugs, fish and artwork! For every errand you manage to complete, one of your friendly neighbours will reward you with a gift, which can be anything from a piece of furniture to those rock star sunglasses you've had your eye on!

All items can be sold in Tom Nooks shop, as well as any fish, bugs or fossils you find and there are always special events going on throughout Animal Crossing such as Easter, Christmas and even taking part in the New Years celebrations!

Brand new to the Wii version of Animal Crossing is the City area, where you can take the bus and stroll around to your hearts content and visit the auction house, go to the theatre or even just have a makeover to get a new look!

You can purchase this game with or without the "Wii speak" microphone, I cannot comment on how good the microphone is as I found it hard to justify the extra price for it, but if you have no plans to visit your friends towns online, or have friends visit yours, then you can save yourself a few pennies buy not purchasing it!

This game is a lovely change of pace to normal games, both of my sons love this game(age 8 and 3), and although my youngest is a little too young to play it he loves watching me fish on there and is always telling me what bugs to catch and where to go. For older people the game might start to lose its gloss and get a little repetetive after a while, but that all depends on what type of games you enjoy - if you are expecting excitement and action then you will be very disappointed!
