Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

I think that this game is amazing. As well as being educational (you learn about a lot of different countries and cities) it also is very good for football fanatics. Its manager mode is fantastic and the new Be A Pro is really, really good. I'd recommend this game on many levels. The graphics and the voices of Andy Gray and Clive Tildsley are very real. My favourite game on PS2 and Wii.

Fifa 09 is really good because you can you can play with your friends and even be on the same team. You can have tournaments and practice modes and you can play for any team in the whole wide world. You can even create a team, players and manager and then swap. The best bit is playing in the premier league and the hardest is trying to beat Spain. A really superb game for football fans and you don't even have to get dirty knees.

This game is by far the best in the series of FIFA games. The 'Be a Pro' mode is fantastic as it allows you to control one player and develop from a young reserve player to a full international. Easily better than PES. I would recommend this game to anyone who loves football.

The most important thing is that our son loves it. It teaches him about countries and places around the world as well, so I can also claim that it is educational. The only downside is that he doesn't seem to be able to make up his own strip and team like he was able to on previous versions.
