Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

We are not Hotel people and as grandparents our main thoughts are that the children should be happy and the parents are relaxed. Les Hiboux is a Farmhouse with such a wonderful adventure garden that the little ones were perfectly happy to stay around all day and were reluctant to get into the car. In fact sometimes our children went off and left my husband and I with the grandchildren to do just that. It hasn't any of the razz-a-me-tazz of Disneyland but with two boules pitches, trampolene, swing and slide, small football pitch, child's wooden garden house, swimming pool, games room with bar football, darts, and ping pong in another barn and plenty of bicycles to choose from we were never at a loss for something to do. Being in a hamlet we were not afraid of traffic.
