David Cameron on whether The Thick of It accurately represents the Conservative publicity machine: "I love The Thick of It. V funny... but only true about the other lot (not)."

Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

We rented this lovely gite last year and I highly recommend it. Neil and LInda (live on-site) were so friendly and really go out of their way to accommodate whatever you need. The gite is in the heart of beautiful french countryside, you are surrounded by the most amazing sunflower fields (thousands and thousands of them - quite surreal!) There is a lovely pool, sandpit, wendy-house, swings, slide, bikes all available in the huge gardens. There is also a lake for fishing! The children were happy to spend the week just in the garden and the pool but there were some beautiful french villages and towns all within short driving distance. FAB HOLIDAY!
