David Cameron on whether The Thick of It accurately represents the Conservative publicity machine: "I love The Thick of It. V funny... but only true about the other lot (not)."

Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

This is a Pierre & Vacances holiday village - a sort of Center Parcs does France. The accommodation was lovely and really clean. It was built a while ago but refurbished completely in 2006 so everything looks brand new. We stayed in a house that slept 5 comfortably. There are various swimming pools split into 3 different areas, these are suitable for small children to teenagers. The resort is in the grounds of a manor house and there are lovely walks around the grounds. There were loads of activities taking place including horse riding, archery, bikes, roller blading, circus school and 3 different, small, children's clubs. There was a lovely restaurant we went to as well as a couple that we didn't. Most of the families on the site were French and lots of the information is in French but everyone was patient with our very poor Franglais! We drove down - from the Eurotunnel it took about 10 hours with an hour lunch break. Going to wait until kids are a bit older and go back to make better use of the facilities!
