A beautiful setting, right on beachfront, with a back-drop of scenic mountains.The gardens are lovely, with a stream running through, hosting fish, turtles sunning themselves on rocks and ducks. Lush green foliage with stunning colours and fragrance of bourganvillea.
The hotel offers bed/breakfast/Half Board or self catering. The restaurant overlooks the beach and dinner can be taken watching the sun go down.
The pool area is clean and safe, for children and a two minute walk takes you to sandy beach, which is super for children to paddle and dig sandcastles.
A promenade runs alongside the beach and there are lovely traditional Turkish restaurants, where you can go to the kitchen and 'taste'.
The resort is uncommercialised and is surrounded by pine forests and eucalyptus woods.
As the sun goes down, a short walk to the harbour brings you to see the fishing boats returning with the days catch, and you can watch them mending their nets, as they have done for many years.
The village is like a walk back in time, and there are lots of excursions around the area to be had. A river boat trip, daily boat trips, or visit the local market for a bit of haggling!
For a laid back holiday, that is only a one hour transfer from Dalaman, I would recommend Akyaka, an idyllic beach resort, and a village where a traditional way of life continues as it has done for hundreds of years.
