I wasn't sure when booking whether to book the Disneyland hotel or spend several hundred euro less and stay at the New York or Newport. But as it was very off peak in January when we went, I booked the Disneyland hotel and got a great deal (?812 for 3 nights B & B). If we go back, which we will hopefully, I would definitely stay there again. As other reviewers mention, the location is superb and the hotel itself is lovely. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, standard of housekeeping and cleanliness is excellent and the staff are lovely. Food is not great and room-service food was pretty poor. But there's a huge selection at the breakfast buffet and you're quite safe with fruit, pastries and cereals. You can take some rolls etc. for later in the day and fill up juice bottles to take with you also. You can meet characters outside the restaurant at breakfast time and if you're getting pics taken, try do a few characters over a 2 day period because the more pics you buy, the cheaper the unit price, and the shop keeps them for 48 hours. Dinner is expensive but was worth it as the characters come into the restaurant and come round the tables. Overall, whilst it is a lot more expensive than the other hotels in the resort, I do think it's worth every penny. We visited the New York hotel and it also seemed nice and, in fact, it has a much better pool but it lacked the magic of the Disneyland hotel.
