I bought the birth-to-potty sent thinking that these were the only reusables on the market!! If only I'd found Mumsnet before I invested. They are OK but I wouldn't recommend them particularly. They couldn't cope with a new, explosive bf baby (but then again disposables could not contain him so perhaps unfair of me to complain!). I've found that you *must* change baby very regularly to avoid leaks. Prefolds are quite fiddly I think and it's quite a struggle with a wriggly baby. I feel a bit conned by the birth-to-potty set, as there are far more nappies than you need in it. But I'm still very glad I went for reusables and don't mind the soaking and washing. I actually really enjoy hanging the nappies out to dry on the line...

Lovely fit - biggest size is generous compared to other reusables.

Very absorbant, not experienced any leaks and esp comfy for baby if used with felt reusable liners.

May seem expensive at first as it's a big amount to pay for newborn size which lasts only a few weeks, but reselling them or keep them for number 2/3/4 etc... means they are a lot cheaper! And they just keep going!

If you work get work to buy some for you if you're lucky enough to have a collection for you...

As for washing, it's not real hassle if you have enough - I soaked mine adn added other white cottons for the wash to make it a full load per day. Def saves money compared with disposables.

The only difficulty you'll have is out and about - no-one seems to make a big enough wet bag for the dirty nappies that seasl in smells etc! I found I used disposables when out and about, so had to score ease of use down a bit...!

Good luck

Cotton Bottoms are "easy to use, very rarely leak and are easy to wash and dry". What's more, most found them to be an "excellent fit" and "very comfortable". "My child has never suffered from nappy rash". "These wraps are a delight - sturdy velcro fastenings and lovely cotton prints - everything from frogs to wizards" and "not difficult or time consuming to make up". One note of caution: "do not tumble dry the wraps even though they say you can. I found it did reduce their waterproofness".
