Baby is really comfortable and they are a lot less smelly than disposables. I bought the "birth to toddler pack" which is definitely extremely good value compared with disposables. On the down side, they are quite difficult to assemble - you have the nappy, the liner and the wrap to put together and nappy changes definitely take longer than with all-in-one products! I do find them quite leaky too, but as far as I can tell, no more so than disposables.

Cotton Bottoms are less expensive than fitted nappies, and you are therefore doing less washing and are less likely to run out than if you spend £100 on fitteds. They are handy as burp cloths or seatcovers or whatever, after they are grown out of. They can be put into pocket nappies and are a lot more absorbent than a terry nappy. Cotton Bottoms are a very soft nappy, they don't go hard like most towelling nappies and dry fast.

On the down side, they must be secured on a newborn, or the containment of bf poo is lousy. Use the Newborn fold and a nappynippa. Don't recommend padfolding Cotton Bottoms at all - use a nippa and you will have a slim, absorbant, neat nappy.

once yu get used to the paraphernalia, they are really very easy. more cost effective than disposables, plus my daughter was potty trained by 2 as she was more aware of her bodily functions.
