This is a fantastic book particularly for first time mums. Everything from colic through to just trying to get a newborn to sleep is covered and it's reassuring to read what other mums have done.

I loved this book.I got both this and the pregnancy one and read cover to cover several times .really good honest advice from mums who know.gives both sides of the stories....eg mums rate their best buys and some mums love things and some hate them but they tell you why which is helpful.

Excellent book - I have already loaned it to 2 of my friends who have had babies. It tells you the truth as it is from experience, especially about what to pack in my hospital bag (which I worried about for ages!!). Well done for being honest!!

When I had my first two children mumsnet wasn't around and obviously neither was this book. So I stuck with the normal bring up baby books by health profesionals. I bought this book last year after having my third baby and oh my goodness its been a godsend. Yes the profesionals are good but who better to give advice but mums and not advice from just one person but real life advice and experiences of many people. Because the advice is from REAL mothers who have been there done that it gets down to the gritty truth of raising babies. I personall adored the breastfeeding section as I was trying desperatly to breastfeed my little one and thought I was getting it so wrong but comments from some of the mothers in the book showed me that I was not doing it wrong, as they had described what I was going through at that moment, to also let me know that they had gone on sucessfully to breastfeeding for a long time. The book covers many topics all that one could hope to be covered in a parenting book and much more....

I was given this book by a friend. Fabulous! The really great thing about it is that it recounts lots of different experiences with no judgements attached, which helps you to understand that there is no definitive right answer, just what works for you and your baby :-)
