I loved this book - it's straightforward and realistic as well as being funny and easy to read during the first sleep deprived weeks. I'm particularly taken with the tip about entertaining a toddler by blowing bubbles and can't wait to try it out. Eleanor (13 weeks) didn't seem impressed but I'm sure she'll get the idea in a few months!

I love this book and re-read it regularly as I come up against different problems! Required reading.

"A funny book with a serious undertone that was reassuring, realistic and entertaining." "Written a long time ago, but still a very readable manual full of humour and good sense." "Not patronising or over-prescriptive, it's great anti-guilt stuff with some top time-saving tips and shortcuts." "Pitched at her Radio 4 fans, it's a bit cosy middle class, but having said that I loved it and often give it as a present to new mums." "Having read so much of how its supposed to be done in a perfect world, it was refreshing to read how to be a good parent in the real world."
