As first time parents this book has been absolutely invaluable. Every concern or question we have come up with seems to be covered in this book in a very non-judgemental way. It's set out in a month by month format which hasn't alway fitted in with our baby son but the index is very helpful when trying to find the answers we needed.

An excellent reference book - as was the pregnancy one. Well written in a sympathetic and practical manner - would and have recommended this to everyone.

This is a great book for us the first time parents who never touch a baby before. We couldn't live without it for the first few months.

It gives covers almost everything we want.

Only down side is the drawings are not always clear.

This was a bit of a bible really for me for the first year. I found it very useful. Having said that, I do agree with the reviewer below who commented that the illnesses section is scary enough to panic you several times over. Also I found the "what your baby should be doing by now" a bit worrying on several occasions. Plus, although some effort has been made to convert this to a UK audience, there are still some Americanisms (ie we do NOT all have paediatricians!).

A handy book that you will find useful information or handy tips when you flip any page at any time. I will recommend this book to expectant mothers to read at least the first month. It is when you need the handy tips most and knowing what to expect helps keeping you calm to deal with any situation. It is certainly exciting to read the chapters ahead of your child's age knowing what to expect. Well written, easy reading, good presentation.
