we love it. All our children have one, in use from age 1 year to 6 years and anticipate many more years use to come. The hieght adjustability really comes into its own for those toddler / preschool years. Not sure how great it would be for younger babies as not very supportive seating. Never used the fabric covers. Don't regret it.

This has been one of the best pieces of kit I have bought. We bought a cheap £30 highchair from Mothercare which my children used during the early days (mainly for the use of the tray) and they then moved on to using the Tripp Trapp from about 1 year. They are now 4 and 2 and it is used as a chair to sit around the table, not just for eating but drawing, baking etc - we bought it in red to team in with our kitchen - we could really do with two of them. Brilliant.

I was hesitant about buying a tripp trapp as I wanted to feed my baby in the kitchen (not in our carpeted living room) and we don't have a table in the kitchen so thought I would need a highchair with a tray. I was also put off by the price and the fact it doesn't fold. I changed my mind having sat my baby in a friend's tripp trapp and various restaurant highchairs. The difference in her posture was remarkable - the tripp trapp really encourages her to sit up well (I believe Dutch schools encourage parents to buy tripp trapps for their children to use in school). She almost falls out of other highchairs. Not folding hasn't proved so much of an issue as I just put it away at the table in the living room and it fits almost underneath.

Brilliant! Looks great, tucks in under the table like one of the chairs and encourages your baby to eat with you at the table and be part of the family. Wouldn't bother with the padded seat cushions. No need (he's sitting on a nappy anyway!) and makes wiping down so easy. Oh, and I have a round table and have found no problems at all.

I have friends who have had one for years and have always said I want one for my child. He is now 5 1/2 months old and loves sitting in it even though we don't yet feed him in it. (He's not weaned yet). It is a very expensive chair but when you think they can use it till they are in their teens it's not really that bad and I always pay for quality and style. The support of my babies back is of upmost importance to me and this chair stops him slouching and slipping and sliding all over. He can see all around him and he's at our level at the dining table. The interaction at mealtimes is invaluable and I wouldn't hesitate to get another if we have more children.

Putting it together is a little fiddly at first especially if you do get the separate baby attachment, harness and seat cover. A good tip is to read all the individual instructions before you start. It's not often you need to adjust things but just tape the alan key to the underside of the seat or foot rest.

Not a chair to be stored but a piece of Swedish design to be kept on view to admire. Another good tip is to choose a different colour baby attachment to the seat colour you are buying. If you get it right then it looks a bit different and even more stylish. We opted for the light oaky type wood and a green baby seat with tales seat cover. It really fits into our dining room.

A lot of people mention that the downside of this chair is that it doesn't have an attached table...you can actually buy one from stokke. It's expensive and having not bought one I don't know how good it is. The whole point of this chair for us is to have our son at the table with us and not sat 3/4 foot away from us. The only other thing to point out is that if you have one of these chairs be aware that you dining table will go through a bit of a bashing as your child bounces numerous hard toys and cutlery off of your table. Get a good wood table or maye a metal one but don't be too precious about it. We specifically got a wood one that looks better with age and after a few beatings! (or get yourseld a hard table covering).

My husband came home from work the other and found my son in his tripp trapp sat next to me whilst I did some work at the computer. He had some toys to play with and was right beside me at the desk. Daddy loved that we were together and that he wasn't left to play on the floor or in his bouncer away from mummy! I'd recommend anyone to buy one but think hard about how you want to use it first before splashing out.
