I do love the chair, but am now up at 4am as I'm having nightmares about baby J falling through the gap between the crotch strap and the side. She is a very curious little girl and turns 180 degrees and her bottom slips through the gap. She also pushes off from the table with her legs. I do love the chair, but maybe she's a bit young for it - 9 months. I love the way t helps her socialise, but worry about safety if I need to pop in to the kitchen 2 metres away to get a cloth etc. I'm going to buy a harness and see if this helps me sleep.

Very easy to assemble. Comes in lovely colours so can fit with your other furniture. Involves child in mealtimes because he can sit with you at the table. Lasts forever, your child is likely to get quite attached to his/her special chair! Lovely cushion covers although they're not necessary. We never used the harness, I suppose if your child is very active or wants to get out all the time they may be useful but seems like an over-the-top accessory to us.

We LOVE this highchair and have yet to see a nicer and more practical one. Why would anyone go for any other chair? If you find it's a bit pricey go on ebay there are loads of used ones for sale and this is a quality product which tends to be in good shape even after years of wear.

Have used a tripp trapp since mine were able to sit in one at six months. Still using it for 3 year old who is not quite tall enough to sit at the table in an adult size chair. Our original one has now been passed on to a cousin and is still in use 6 years on! If you're looking to the long term this is the one for you. Tucks in nicely to our table and doesn't offend the eye. Hated the cushions though, always in the wash. Gave up in the end and just covered the cushioned seat with a tea towel!

I bought the Tripp Trapp as I can't stand the look of the plastic ones which can cost around £100-£125 and why do I want my son to be able to recline when he's eating, anyway!? We were keen to have our son eat with us at the table and the TT is perfect for that. He is very comfortable and sits happily in there for mealtimes and even to play whilst we're sitting having a cuppa. We ordered it from Back in Action (excellent customer service and price match offer - we also got our Stokke Xplory from them - I highly recommend them). On the Back in Action website it advised to not use the seat part of the cushion when they are very young as it can get quite messy. Therefore we just use the backrest cushion at the moment which doesn't really get dirty and just pops in the washing machine once a month. It is very easy to clean, I wipe it down with soap and water after each mealtime and dry with some kitchen paper. It has runners, which mean when our son pushes himself away from the table the whole highchair just glides backwards on our floorboards, there is no danger of it tipping. It looks great and is light enough to slide away to the corner of the room when he has gone to bed for the night. It comes in a range of colours (I think my husband was relieved that Stokke discontinued the purple one this year, so we have the more reserved natural!)The cushion designs are lovely - we have the Tales design which is very funky, bright colours and disguises the odd stain easily! We also ordered the harness, but I didn't use it for long as my son is perfectly secure in the TT without it, although it may curb his bouncing if I started using it again...! Again, fantastic guarantee from Stokke - 7 years and Oko Tex standard materials so no harmful chemicals. It may seem expensive, but when you consider it can be used into adulthood, it seems very economical, unlike other highchairs which you'd probably stop using within the year. To save money you can shop around online or buy secondhand off eBay if you want a real bargain. Thoroughly recommended.

Definatly a MUST and just brilliant if you want to have your kid eating at the table with you. They feel part of whats going on I am sure for that reason learn to eat well. It is not cheap but it will last them for years. My 19 year old niece is still using hers now for studying. It is a bit of a pain to clean (but arn't they all?) and adjust but its a small price to pay. I am always happy to be home for meal times because I find other chairs (specially the ones with trays) really unpractical.
